of Christian forums; but what I'd like to know is: Whence did the guys below
get theirs?

• Gen 4:18-19 . . . Enoch was the father of Irad. Irad was the father of Mehujael.
Mehujael was the father of Methushael. Methushael was the father of Lamech--
Lamech married two women.

That's a total of at least five women about whom I know extremely little.

When was the first time man urinated? The Bible is silent on that issue. Are we to infer from silence that Adam never urinated?

The Bible is silent as to whether Adam and Eve birthed children between the births of Abel and Seth. To infer that Adam and Eve had no children between the births of Abel and Seth simply because the Bible is silent suggests one thing: Adam and Eve birthed a baby girl after Seth that grew old enough for her to become Cain's wife. It is the only scripturally sound explanation. To suggest that a pre-Adamic race existed from whom Cain got his wife corrupts the word of God completely.

These women were all from the land of Nod, east of Eden (most likely what would become Sumeria or Sumer).

If you believe that silence in the Bible is proof of something not having taken place, you obviously feel free adding your own unreasonable hypothesis, like adding a pre-Adamic race to the mix, or an alien race descended, or in whichever unreasonable direction you care to go.

The fact that specific women are not given a prominent role in genealogies, as evidenced by the genealogy in Genesis, and the geneaologies of Mary and Joseph (except for Eve, Rahab, Ruth, Tamar, Uriah'wife, Mary), and that women generally are not mentioned in geneaoligies, only means there are women we don't know much or anything about, i.e., Cain's wife and the wives of Enoch, Irac, etc. The fact God's word says HE created Adam and then Eve from Adam, and says nothing of creating another man or pre-Adamic race of men separate and apart from Adam and Eve, indicates that all the wives of all the men in Genesis came from one bloodline, namely: the bloodline of Adam and Eve.

One other thing to keep in mind is that the blood-line created by God in Adam and Eve was not yet the corrupted line it is today, but rather it was the closest to pure that it ever was. People were living longer than 900 years and producing babies. The weathering process (the solar effects on humans) and the atmospheric conditions generally were not like we know today.

Therefore, it is only reasonable to conclude that Adam and Eve had lots of baby girls that grew into women/wives for their brothers and their nephews, and their cousins, etc. And when those brothers, nephews, cousins, etc, took their blood relatives as wives, they too produced baby girls who would grow up to become women/wives for men in their own bloodlines.

God created human beings in his image - male and female - in Genesis 1
Then God rested
After God rested God formed Adam (and Eve) and set them apart in a garden
The narrative of events in Genesis 2 is different to that of chapter 1
Adam and Eve is a genealogical creation to establish the coming of our God and Saviour.

Yes, the flood destroyed everyone save Noah, Noah's wife and Noah's sons and their wives, from whom the entire world was repopulated. How long ago exactly? I don't know, and the Bible doesn't say.

union's progeny produced some of the most important men who ever lived, e.g.
Isaac, Jacob, David, and ultimately Jesus.

The thing is: incest wasn't officially banned till the covenant that Moses' people
agreed upon with God. That covenant wasn't codified till after the days of Enoch,
Irad, Mehujael, and Lamech.

Well; according to Deut 5:2-4 and Gal 3:17, the covenant isn't retroactive. So then
prior to the Flood, and quite a few years after it, people were at liberty to marry
and produce children with whomsoever they desired; even their nearest of kin, viz:
Enoch, Irad, Mehujael, and Lamech likely hooked up with their cousins.

NOTE: All human life today descends from Noah and his three sons (Gen 9:18-19).
That being the case, then the children of Noah's three sons had to intermarry with
each other, i.e. cousins with cousins.

Amen brother. In the vast majority of cases of incest, close kin produce genetically deformed or malformed offspring, many of whom die at a very young age. But, interestingly, ever so infrequently a perfectly healthy and intelligent baby is born. Very rare. However, even today (since very recent anyway) most of the royal weddings in Europe have been of 3rd or 4th or 5th cousins twice removed. Not all, but most. Keeping it in the family, as it were.

Therefore, the only reasonable inference to draw is that the earth was repopulated by the family of Noah. Only a heretic would require a different set of circumstances to fit into their heretical outcome.

Really!! If this were so then there would be no children born after the flood.
There were also four women on the Ark as well. They are included in the Biblical narrative as well.
