Job 1:7 "And the Lord said unto Satan, whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
8- And the Lord said unto Satan, hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is non like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
9- Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, doth Job fear God for nought?
10- Hast thou not made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.
11-But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.
12-And the Lord said unto Satan, behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord."
Sounds like Satan was given a job to do by God with one stipulation???? Which we know that it was for the benefit of Job in the end as an answer to Jobs prayer.
John 13:27 " And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him. That thou doest do quickly." Did Jesus know Satan was in Judas? I think so. So who was Jesus talking too? Judas or Satan? If it was Satan then Jesus was giving him an order in this case to carry out his own betrayal. Which eventually was for our good.
Obviously i'm in the camp that says the toaster is not at war with the one who made it. But can someone enlighten as to how Jesus tells us he was a liar from the beginning but yet it is widely held he was a fallen angel who's rebellion got him cast out of the heavenly realm?
These different views of Satan do not seem to mesh at all.
And lastly, if he really was at war with God why doesn't God just destroy his own creation? But rather locks him up for 1000 years then lets him out to deceive the nations?
Everything Acts quoted is true with one little exception. Satan is OUR enemy according to the purposes of God to provide an ADVERSARY for US to overcome. He cannot deceive God nor can he tempt God but US he can do both. Through false doctrine, physical temptations, temporal temptations. His main 3 temptations are for provision, protection, and possessions. These 3 things are what he tried to use on Jesus and he does the same to us.
As was stated above Satan was given a Job with 1 stipulation. He had to mind it and he did.
A good Father that wants his children to grow up strong and wise and provides exercises for his children. In our case SPIRITUAL.
