Nowing that this means all powerful, it goes right along with all knowing and being anywhere and at anytime.

Our God is all three : Omnipotent , Omniscient and Omnipresent.

We read this and are told this but somehow many of us don't live it; we just simply don't know how perfect God is and how Holy, Holy, Holy He is.

Being all knowing , all present and all powerful is not enough for a lot of us; we need to understand , just who He is.

When Jesus walked on the stormy waters and calmed the seas with His command, the first thing the Disciples asked was " what sort of man is this?"...even with all their closeness, they had no description for Him other than to be in utter amazement.

So it is with many of us we just can't come to grips with God's Holiness or are in denial of it. Oh, we read and hear that He did EVERYTHING regarding man before He created ANYTHING, but we just don't understand absolute perfection.

This thread is about God and not OSAS , which some detest but, I might add here, that His Holy,Holy, Holiness is one reason I believe in His salvation by Grace.

He is a man of His WORD, 100 % perfect everytime; why in the world would we try to take any of the credit?

God is omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent, sure. But He is also so much more. We cannot define the A-Z of God off of one or three words.

The problem with placing a full-stop after omniscience for example is that it causes every person who hears your message believe that a belief like Calvinism is true. An inevitability. An all knowing God, 'full-stop', can ''never ever'' truly give His creation free will.

I have debated this topic for ten years now. I have yet to hear a compelling argument for free will from someone who believes in ''He is omniscient, full-stop''.

The truth in my humble opinion is a Catholic teaching on the topic. God limits His omniscience to uphold being good / true free will.

God is omniscient + righteous in all His ways Psalm 145:17 = True free will = Good God Psalm 136:1

God is omniscient + silence = No true free will = wicked God.

Consider how Peter says in Acts 10:34 ''Of a truth I perceive, God is no respecter of persons''. This was not an immediate and obvious truth. It needed to be revealed to him. Likewise, I find it interesting how David words his statement in Psalm 136:1 ''Give thanks because God is good''. Why did he have to say that? Surely all believed God was ''only'' good. Guess not. Seems only the prophets had revelation after revelation about God's goodness. As Christians, we too should echo their sentiments and definitions for God.

Anything less then true free will is wicked. Fact. No way to defend that position and keep face. Just ask the person that did not get shown any impartiality.

One more thing to add. We see God ''limit'' His omnipotence every-time evil takes place.

The thread was meant to Glorify God and the Omnipresent , Omnipotent and Omniscient is given to us in an attempt to explain his Allness(perfection) but, who among us can truly know him until we meet "Face to Face"?
I long for that moment!

The point I am making is that He is not always omnipotent. I don't see His omnipotence, omniscience or omnipresence as reasons to praise Him. Give Him glory for. Why would you?

His limited omniscience, sure. That is evidence of a good God. I will worship Him for all eternity because He chooses to limit it. He could be a wicked all encompassing omniscient and omnipotent God, but He is not.

Just saying ''Him being all powerful'' is not grounds to praise and worship Him. How is that a statement that upsets you?

Him being ''holy'' is a separate matter to the three 'omni's'.

His omniscience is unlocked when we give Him full reign over us. As is His omnipotence. He is able to intervene and protect us ''once'' we are saved.

He limits it before we are saved. This is the only way that all people are on an equal playing field.

God does not know from birth who will be in heaven. But He does know who is His from the time we make a decision to make Him Lord of our lives. OSAS is true from that point. To suggest it is true from birth is Calvinism.

And many times people seems to believe that the "Almighty GOD" is a powerful human being. But HE is a "Incomprehensible" Being. beyond our scope of knowing, because we are limited beings. And He only reveal HIMSELF more to us through "Jesus Christ" than He did , to the Prophets of Old.

It is his perfect holiness why He is described by all "The Omnis!

We call Him holy / He was called holy by prophets because He is a good God.

If there is no true free will He is not holy.

It comes off a tad ridiculous if we serve Him because He is the ''all powerful''. We have many valid reasons to serve Him. His love, His kindness, His mercy, His goodness, His patience, His justice. His ''power'' should not ever need to feature as a reason.

Even the song ''My God is so great, so big and so mighty, there is nothing my God cannot do''' makes me shriek. This kind of song would never have been a hymn a hundred years ago.

Truthfully, this is the toughest and most troublesome issue I have seen in some of the communities centered around scriptures, being the contentions arising out of disagreements. I still don't understand the reasons for such strong reproach when I don't see any standing issue that merits it, and so here I am, wondering why these disagreements are not taken to humble dialog and constructive edifying by sitting at the table and reasoning soundly.

It honestly doesn't help you and it doesn't help them to communicate this way.

I can see the sense in this. Yet the Bible is full of praise for God's mighty deeds, and he is frequently praised as "Almighty God".

Power alone is not worthy of praise, but when we think of Gods power in the context of his goodness, love, kindness and patience - it gives us extra depth and richness to our worship.

I do praise Him for His perfection but equally am in awe of Him because of it!

And I can't help thinking that someday I will know Him as well as He already knows me...how is that even possible ? I guess that is one of the reason why God calls Him self Omnipotent!
