In those same verses though JTB did qualify the fact that he was not the Christ, nor was He the Prophet spoken of by Moses, that Christ and Prophet was Jesus.

The Prophet spoken by Moses? Feel free to share the scriptures on that one, brother. I know Moses had written about Jesus as the God men had seen in the O.T. Hmm.. I believe when God had cursed the serpent in the garden, that was Jesus before His incarnation prophesying so I can see that application. Did you have another one in mind?

If you will, "The Lord THY GOD will raise up unto thee a PROPHET (MAN) of THY BRETHREN....................... This verse does not imply anything other than the coming of a man
whom God would appoint as a Prophet that the people should listen to in ALL things. It just so happened that that MAN was also the Son of God and the Son of Man in that He was a
man born of a woman. No other way to say He was of their brethren unless He was born of the flesh from a tribe of Israel. And no way for Him to be made like unto His brethren in
ALL THINGS unless He was truly just a MAN. Only difference, He was not born with a carnal mind just as Adam was not made initially with a carnal mind either. Thus Jesus was

So John the Baptist was like Elias because John came to prepare the way of the Lord in what Jesus said Elias was sent for in like manner to do and that is to restore all things, but John was not actually Elias himself nor was Jesus Christ even though both were like Elias in restoring all things.

I do not deny any word of God just quoting different scripture. Not trying to create a doctrine just presenting another verse, although it is on the surface contrary to what you presented.
Now either JTB is a liar and did not want to admit who he was or the understanding of Jesus' words were interpreted wrong in that as was spoken to Zacharias of John that John
would go before the Lord in the "Spirit and Power of Elijah", not the reincarnated Elijah, is the true understanding of what Jesus meant.

I'm gonna let this part go as it has nothing to do with salvation, nor becoming a son of God. It is strange however, that the original thread gets so diverted so quickly.

But in closing I would add that the Bible does say it is given to a man once to die and then the judgement, as Elijah was taken up in a chariot of fire he never died as Elijah,

Just curious here but when Jesus was transfigured and Moses and Elijah appeared and talked with Him the disciples saw this and wanted to erect tabernacles for each.
Now my question would be how did they know it was Elijah or Moses? And why did they not see John as the reincarnated Elijah whom they knew by sight?
