Not sure if this is best place to post, but we need to be careful in these last days, and beware of the leaven of the prosperity gospel and faith movement.
The bible says this:
Rom 10:9-10
(9) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
(10) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
This is very true, that is how we got saved, it was us first believing what the word said via salvation and so on, and it resulted in a true confession before the Lord.
And yes as we grow in faith, we continue to believe in our hearts, and thus confess what the word says.
For we walk by faith and live by faith.
And we must hide the word in our hearts.
But what the faith movement does, is say if you confess the word long enough, then you will get you healing , your riches , whatever.
Now I am not for the prosperity gospel at all, an Paul knew how to abound and to be abased, the bible says this:
1Ti 6:5
(5) Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
To be rich in Christ, in spriritual things that is what counts, and not in material things, now if God blesses someone with material things, then be not prideful, use it wisely, help those in genuine need.
But this name it and claim it gospel, is not even biblical, yes we stand on God's promises, while we believe with our heart, but confession itself, or by itself, will do nothing.
The bible says this:
2Co 4:13
(13) We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
It is not head faith that God wants, but it is first believing from the heart, which results in a genuine confession from the mouth, but in the faith movement, action wise, it is as a result of your confession, that means you believe, and that is not true, for if that were true , then what about these next verses:
Mat 7:21-23
(21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
(22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
(23) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
These people were proclaiming Jesus as Lord, and they claimed all kinds of miracles in Jesus' name (in thy name).
But yet God said he never, never , ever knew them.
SO beware of the leaven of the faith movement, which their way of confession is the opposite of God's way, let the word of God dwell in your heart richly, let it become alive, yield yourself to him, keep your heart in him, and yes proclaim him, but from the bottom of your heart, stand on his word from the bottom of your heart, what God wants is a yielded heart, and then the rest follows.
No rituals, no man made confession system which many times is really based on hypnosis, but just simply I believe , therefore I speak, and let God and not man's way of confessing things lead you, God will give you the right word, when it is needed.
