A different spiritual gift

Hi guys, maybe you can answer my question...

My friend gave me this prophecy about me tonight,

"you have the gift to impart other spiritual gifts on others for permanent or temporery times"

is there such a gift and can you guys comment on the matter

Hello Xariex,

I've not heard anything quite like that before. Firstly, I would say that if you are a Christian – born again – and it seems that you are, and you have also been baptised in the Holy Spirit. Then you can pray for others to be baptised in the Holy Spirit. You will notice that all the spiritual gifts are in the Holy Spirit 1 Corinthians 12. So if the gifts are in the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit is in you, you have access to all the gifts. Therefore, so will the person you pray for to be baptised in the Holy Spirit. So there is really no need to go round imparting individual spiritual gifts to other's.

The trick to moving in spiritual gifts is to walk in love as 1 Corinthians 13. If you are loving God and loving your neighbour you will reach out in love for the gift that is needed in any given situation for the person in need.

However, when someone is commissioned by God to fulfill a specific ministry the church leaders might pray & prophecy over him/her but that is strictly for mature believers/leaders who are submissive to God's spiritual authority.

Good post Tonyb, It is an impartation that comes from the elders of the Church when unctioned by the Holy Ghost.

1Timothy 4:14
Do not neglect the spiritual gift you received through the prophecies spoken to you when the elders of the church laid their hands on you.

Your friend said "you have the gift". Did he say you had the gift of the Holy Spirit?

Concerning the Gifts and the distribution of the Gifts, the Word of God says this;

Ephesians 4:11-13 says, "It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Galatians 5:22-23 says there are a nine fold fruit of the Holy Spirit, i.e.
Love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance

1 Corinthians 12:8-11 says. "To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.


I cannot find a gift of the Holy Spirit to **impart other spiritual gifts on others for permanent or temporery(temporary) times**

Gifts of the Holy Spirit are bestowed on a born again believer by the Holy Spirit - not by me or you or your friend - not even the Pope or the Archbishop of Cantabury! He (The Holy Spirit), gives them to each one, just as He determines."

I suggest you friends prophesy for you comes from a strange source and therefore not from The Holy Spirit, i.e. the world, the flesh or the devil.
