A frightening realization

You know how sometimes you seem to be going on your way, doing whatever it is you usually do, when something occurs to you that catches you off guard? Well, that's how I feel right now. I used to pray so much, I used to hold myself to my moral standards.. but then I started to slip. I've slipped and fallen many times, and each time I get up, I find that I've lost ground and I never make it up. My thoughts are never where they should be, and I feel like I've been kind of shrugging God off. He's been trying to speak to me and I've turned a deaf ear to Him. It kinda seems like I'm an outcast from the people I live with. I live in a college dorm, so we interact very regularly. Sometimes it seems like I don't use the common sense God has given me. Everybody doesn't see me as the smartest people in the room, and some make fun of me for it. I don't really know what I'm trying to say. I just miss God, His voice, His reassuring presence. I know that in this forum, my true identity is not revealed. I am sort of another person, and what I truly feel, I can express without my friends knowing it's me. That gives me comfort in a way. Writing this has sort of helped me, but I know I've still got a long way to go. I know I can always get closer to God. Any verses y'all have would greatly help. Thanks for all your prayers.
 
Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you. Matt.6.33.

The Vine and the Branches
1"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

5"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. 8This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

9"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. 11I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. 14You are my friends if you do what I command. 15I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 17This is my command: Love each other.

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."


Jeremiah 29

11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back from captivity.


Father You are in control and I pray that rebel will earnestly seek to have fellowship with You. You are waiting there for him to come and draw close to You so that You can draw close to him. Help him to open his spiritual eyes and ears to see and hear You. You know all about him and I pray that he will meditate on Your Word and learn it to be able to use it when he needs help in his daily life. Nothing is too small for You and You long to hear him talk to You and listen to what You are saying to him so I pray that he will have an open heart to know where You are leading him in Jesus' name I pray amen.

Everyone of us is unique, so the key point is accepting yourself as a whole, no more no less.
Build close relationship with God, without doubt, keep it, and you will find that you do have a good relation. That's where your faith stands. It's our duty to keep our faith.
Keep praying. That's a useful and direct way to communicate with God. Just tell Him whatever you think. But pay attention not to put your will higher than God's will. Day by day, He will guide you how to pray in a better manner.
Watch your tongue and behavior. You will find out why you should do this.
 
hi rebel06 just a reminder your not alone in this. lots of people have been through what you are struggling with right now, so your not outcast. the great news is, God is a forgiving God, and His forgiveness come each day. In no doubt He's probably missing you to! so He's ready whenever you wanna get started. I encourage you lots of people have sliped and fallen numerous times, dont try to rush yourself, build a sturdy foundation in God (what i mean is, day by day do things like read a verse, until it is practically a habit and then start increasing.) you need to increase in yourself brfore you increase in other areas, otherwise its possible that you could get emotionally or phisically drained. You doing Good! just remeber God's grace and where you heart is at. Proverbs: above all else guard your heart.
 
Hi rebel06. HEb13v5 says that the Lord will never leave nor forsake us! I also believe that the way you are feeling is how HE is feeling: He also misses your voice and needs your obedience to come back boldly to His throne, since HIs righteousness is ours according to Isah 54 the last verse
