SignUp Now!Hello @Jesus_is_LORDWhich part? Are you speaking of Joseph not being told of the birth? If so, I thought the same thing you were thinking at first, but the speaker continues to share
that it was after Joseph wanted to put her away that the angel tells him. The speaker is correct. Joseph was not told
initially, he was only told after. Read the scripture below. The Pastor explains this in the sermon, but I think you cut off too early.
"This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.
Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. [Notice Joseph has not yet been told]
But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream [Notice Joseph is told now, after] and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. '
-Matthew 1:20

Hello @Jesus_is_LORD
No, it was the implication that Joseph was not important in regard to the purpose of God in relation to the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. For the genealogies of Matthew 1 and Luke 3, show the necessity of both Mary and Joseph (Jesus father by law), in making the line of entitlement to the throne end with the Lord Jesus Christ, for both through Solomon and Nathan (sons of David) the line ends through Mary and Joseph with the Lord Jesus.
So, Joseph played no unimportant part in the plan and purpose of God, but was a vital component, along with Mary in securing the right to rule on the throne of David for their son under law, and God's only begotten son by consummation.
Thank you
