Hi. Just a little note to help all of us parents not worry about this world affecting our children too deeply. Here is the passage that has kept me going throughout parent hood, with so much less stress and a little more positive that my children WILL make it through their childhood, hopefully not too scathed. What the following passage means to me, is that God is telling us not to worry about the viper, the cobra, the serpent and all his ways, (through television, through the internet, through "bad" rock) Our children will prevail. Please all parents, put this Word of God in your heart and relax a bit. We have children of God and I see this when my children pray with me at bedtime. # Isaiah 11:8 (Whole Chapter)
The infant will play near the hole of the cobra, and the young child put his hand into the viper's nest.

See, it is our beautiful Father telling us in the words of Isaiah, that we can trust in Him to look after our children (and also the child in us)

Hope this helps any parents that are distressed about what this world can do to their children. God be with us, always. Amen...Pixie

Trusting in the Lord

Thank you Pixie,
It is always good to be encouraged, and in the world of parenting, there is plenty of scope for wisdom and the Word as parents struggle to keep their families in one piece.
I have eleven children, and know about becoming concerned with the conflict that the world is to our beloved children. For you, and all others, whether you are Christian or not, may I add to Pixie's words and say, the Lord is faithful.

With eleven children, many are the times that I have started down the road of fear of what bad influences will do to my little ones, only to be gently reminded of the Lord's care and how much greater it is than my little fears.
I have often been given the conviction, though, that as they are my children, it is very much part of my responibility to keep them unspotted from the world while they are young. No matter how much I may try there is always another worldly lure, and so my greatest task is TAKING THE TIME to explain to the children in as much detail as neccessary to help them understand why the dangers are dangers, why it is not a road to life, and as I do this, we bond even more, and my children get a deeper understanding of the Word, and Christianity. So whatever the enemy may throw at us, we can turn the situation to our mutual benefit, to the glory of God.
The magnetism of this world is very strong.... let us thank God that He is infinitely stronger and as we trust in Him, we can go on to trust more that He will keep us and our loved ones from evil.

And one extra point to parents, remember that the same world that attracts our children, beckons us, and we must fight the good fight to be there for our little ones, even when they have grown beyond little.

Blessed be the name of our Lord, in Jesus name.

and....bless you!
