I believe this is the fifth year running that I’ve gone with posting Daily Devotionals from the Daily Wisdom books. Normally I would give credit to each writer on each devotional if they noted who actually wrote them! It’s a mix of different writers, and I can say they have been a blessing to me, and is the reason I share them here with you. Praying that they also may bless you in opening up God’s Word as a consideration for growth in your life throughout each day and the upcoming year.
The first devotional makes mention of a yearly plan for reading the Bible. If you would like to have it, please let me know, and though it may take me a while to type it up, I will endeavor to get it to you via a Private Message here on Talk Jesus as soon as I can.
God bless you as each day brings us closer to our first love’s return!
With the Love of Christ Jesus.

Devotional
Blessed [is] the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. Psalm 1:1-2 NKJV
Today is New Year’s Day, a day when a man of God can reflect on the good things the Lord has done for him over the past 365 days—and think about what God has taught him through His written Word, the bible, during that same time period.
January 1 is a day when many well-meaning folks make New Year’s resolutions, personal promises and goals meant to improve themselves or their station in life. But God calls us Christian men to something much higher—a commitment to daily time in the scripture. He’s given to teach us, encourage us, and admonish us.
Why not purpose in your heart to start your year-long journey of scripture reading today, New Year’s Day, by reading today’s reading in the “Read through the Bible in a Year Plan”, found at the end of this devotional book?
Prayer: Lord God, You have promised that I can find great blessing by purposefully taking joy and encouragement in Your written Word. On this, the first day of 2024, I commit myself to spending daily quality time with You, both in the Word and in prayer.
