Through the years I've journeyed, living age to age,
From child to adolescent and across the adult stage,
Mind and body growing, with experience and time,
While something that's my inner self is harder to define.
The essence of my nature has always been the same,
An ageless, classless being, no matter what my gain,
Someone who's unchanged by the ravages of time,
Someone who's forever young, with mountains still to climb.
This must be my spirit, the part of me that flies,
That lives within my body and shines out through my eyes
That's my definition, but it's just what I suppose,
If you have a better one perhaps you'll let me know.
