Saved believers need not pray for such a phenomenal event of the Holy Spirit falling on already saved believers for assurances that He is with them when that will not be the Holy Spirit doing that when they can get assurances in His words.

1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

2 Corinthians 11:1Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.
2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

1 John 4:1Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

It is no wonder why many saved believers that have gone astray, feel abandoned by the Lord when the spirit of the antichrist does not visit like that any more or for when they need that "sign" or that "tongue" for assurances.
Pray rather that through His words, they receive comfort from the truth in His words that He is in us and with us always to walk us through this valley of death to fear no evil to no longer seek after signs when that is apostasy.

Heed His words below that once a saved believer has been born again of the Spirit by faith in Jesus Christ, they would not ask for the Holy Spirit again unless they make the Father look evil as if they did not get the Holy Spirit as promised the first time by faith in Jesus Christ at the calling of the gospel.

Luke 11:
9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Verses 11 & 12 is Jesus testifying that no one will ask the Father for the Holy Spirit again.

That is the tradition that Paul is writing about that we are to hold fast to in keeping the faith which is the good fight.

2 Thessalonians 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

May God cause the increase to correct our speech and our prayers so that we are not denying this truth in His words and thus denying Him by that kind of prayer and by that phenomenon that may come as a result.

Hi Gb4u, thank you, some lovely passages there.

Personally I think God loves us to commune with Him day and night. He loves to hear from me, chat about my day, worship Him in song, share my likes and dislikes, fears and ambitions. Anything, just chat away. He loves me to ask. I'm reaffirming my dependence on Him rather than upon hard work or good luck. And if I ask amiss the answer will be no, I'm sure God won't take the hump for asking.

Remember that song from the 60s, Oh Lord Won't You Buy Me Mercedes Benz by Joan Armatrading? Reminds me of -
You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. James 4:2‭-‬3 NKJV

I'm thinking, that might be pushing it lol. Have yourself an amazing lovely day x
