A thought for you to consider -- a riddle I guess..

When they are born, they are barely visible spots, And,
Daniel 7:6 talks of a leopard, Daniel 7 in general talks about a turbulent sea of nations and that 4 nations rise out of that stormy sea of nations. The storm could easily be the 2 world wars we had, nearly back to back. The first beast could be the nations Britain and the US (the lion and eagle combined), the second beast could be what was the bear USSR, gobbling up the many smaller nations around it, the 3rd could be China, for the tiger and the dragon represent her throughout her history (tiger/leopard are very close and the tiger/dragon combined would be much like the 3rd beast. With much of the 3rd beast transformed, you might not see the spots, plus Leopards were native to Cush, and rarely seen in Egypt much less by the Euphrates where Daniel lived.) This is what I thought when I read your question, not sure that it applies....

In that particular case, I woke up early in the AM and it was just in my mind. The Lord uses this method with me a fair amount -- He's given me names, places, visions, etc that way -- when my mind isn't quite as 'engaged' as it is when I'm fully awake. I've just gotten into the habit of writing the time/date and what the thing was that was given to me. I usually keep a pen/paper on the nightstand for times such as this. Lately though, He's been speaking to me in a different way -- having me take a sort of dictation into the computer as some of the messages He gives me are a bit long. This is a phenomena that only started 2 weeks ago but I've had it happen about 6 times in that period. Sometimes He'll give me a song to sing, etc.. I love this faith journey!

Can a leopard be spot-free and still be a leopard?
Interesting, not sure if this has any have to do with Jeremiah 13:23.
What were you doing at the time that the Lord spoke this to you?

If I recall, I had just woken up.. This is far from the first time this has happened. The Lord has used this method with me personally a number of times since being born again ~3 years ago. Names of people in the Bible (Son of Zadok, Theophilus, names that are not exactly on the tip of my tongue if you know what I mean -- there have been others too -- watcher on the wall, etc), names of cities (here and now cities), etc. I've been awakened by my cell phone ringing but it didn't ring.. Same with a steam boat whistle -- I live in the desert. No water within miles and miles. There are ZERO steam boats within a hundred miles of here -- the closest is in Anaheim at Disneyland. The Lord will use whatever method He wants to talk to us -- to me He puts thoughts in my head sometimes, other times it's audible sounds in the spirit realm that wake me up... Not sure if that answers your question or not...

I've been driving on the freeway by myself here in the Los Angeles area and didn't even realize I was having a conversation with the Lord until I was several questions into it.. He did that to me last February with regards to a house purchase. It was a very powerful/profound encounter, but I didn't realize what was going on until partway through the conversation -- strange as that may sound.

Thats a riddle and a half, well a spot free leopard would it be a panther?

My thoughts Brothers & Sisters on Jeremiah 13:23

In reading on this and taking into account who was being talked to "Judah". The following bit of a commentary I read seems to make sense. "The evil of Judah was too deep-ingrained to be capable of spontaneous reformation. There remained nothing but the sharp discipline of the exile."

God however has always allowed the opportunity for man to turn from their wicked ways as one can read in 2 Chronicles 7:14 and so the second part of the verse "Then may you also do good who are accustomed to do evil." is the opportunity that God gives Judah for them to change.

So, God allows this for all of humanity, for which I believe any true and lasting change to happen. Must come by way of the Holy Spirit through Christ Jesus.

Thanks for bringing up the verse Brothers Amadeus & Born Again 2004

@Psalm23Rick Considering your riddle with the theme of Jeremiah 13:23, I would have to answer "No". For we are a new Creation. Therefore, if anyone [is] in Christ, [he is] a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

Always to the Glory of God!

With the Love of Christ Jesus.
