About types of clothing

The bible is clear on cross dressing, ie never put on the garnets of the apposite gender. but what if the clothing is unisex ? like worn by both?

It is a good point, but first I think we need to look back at the area in the world and the time in the world.

We are in the Middle East, men and women would wear totally different clothes to what we wear today, there was a difference in what a man wore and what a woman wore, uni-sex is a new concept.

But what is also clear in scripture, regarding clothing, is not just that men should not wear women's clothes and visa versa, but the clothes they ere wearing was not in any way sexual, they were loose fitting, protecting view of the body and body parts which are precious and not to be flaunted.

When we look at history regarding clothing it is clear that for thousands of years the body was covered, even in the 1900's long dresses for ladies and baggy pants for men. Although the skirts rose to just below the knee between the first and second world war, it wasn't until the 1960's that the mini skirt, the midi skirt and even shorter skirts were introduced. Skirts got shorter, tops got smaller and tighter, men's clothing also got tighter, and as you have added the uni-sex clothing has been introduced, but it wasn't always that way.

As we entered the 'latter days' of the end times, I believe started 14 May 1948, when Israel became a state again and the number of Jews returning increased year on year since, but from the 1950's things started to change, slowly at first, then each decade increasing faster and faster, as scripture says, they are like the birth pangs, starting slow and increasing, which is what we are to expect before Christ's Return in Glory.

Since 1948, even more so in the last 20 years or so we have seen, an increase in the wars and rumours of wars, increase in earth quakes and pestilences, hardening of hearts, kids disobedient to their parents, man going with man and woman with woman, increase in sexual activities of all kinds, raging waters etc, etc.

The things happening today all prophesied, especially sexual acts and ungodliness', are a repeat of Sodom and Gomorah, it is all as the days of Noah were. The free sex, free speech, short dresses, tight clothing, have all led to what we see today.

When we read scripture it is important to read in context, but it is also important to consider what things were like at the time of writing, clothing etc, where in the world was it.

A good test when considering these things is to ask the following questions...
1 what does scripture say,
2 look for answers to the following...
Who - was in the passages read
Why - was it written, why were things done a certain way
What - was said, what was happening, what items were important in the story and at that time
Where - was the story at or where were things referring to
When - was the story written, or when does the things mentioned refer to
How - can I learn from what was said, how can I learn from what they did or didn't do

Who - Why - What - Where - When - How

Don't just stick to the suggested questions above, ask yourself,
when was it written, what was the theme, what did they wear at that time, what is the difference in what we wear today, How different are they, What can I learn from this, What does God say, What does God intend for me to know, How can I avoid mistakes in this day and age.

Blessings
