Good evening reader and you who are searching for the truth.
I want to zoom on a very popular chapter written by the apostle Paul and in doing so I want to the answer this question: What does it mean to be absent from the body and present with the LORD? I will be using the bible and my opinion will not be in this post because my opinion can't get you salvation only the Word of God can. Let's Go
So let's start with the 1st verse. The Earthly tabernacle is your flesh. This was also explained by apostle Peter.
2 Peter 1: 14
14 Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.
So if we have a tabernacle in Heaven it would be normal to think you need to go to Heaven to get it right? Then what did Jesus mean when he said this:
John 3: 12 - 13
12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
Alright, so if no man is going to Heaven, then is it possible to obtain this heavenly tabernacle? It verse 6 this is what is written
6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
Now since we are absent from the LORD we are groaning because this flesh is rough. Many people are suffering.
4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
Right as long as we are in this body we are absent from the LORD and we are groaning waiting to gain that spiritual body. However the bible does teaches that Christ will come again.
John 14: 2 - 3
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
So Jesus went to Heaven where no man can go but the good news is that he will come again. Which means we are absent from the LORD until he comes which is what Paul is explaining.
8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
You know, I RATHER be a millionaire but unfortunately I am not. Paul wrote to the Saints explaining he rather be absent from the body (earthly tabernacle) and be present with the LORD (spiritual tabernacle). I am pointing this out because he never said he actually was present with Christ because many people use this to say Paul went to Heaven and Jesus already said no man has ascended to heaven and no man will.
9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
Yea you have to work for whatever reward Christ will give you at his coming, not a day before.
Since flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, while you are in the flesh you are absent from the LORD.
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
This is not a secret, you will be judged for every work you did in this flesh. Unfortunately the modern day church is spreading lies saying you ain't got to do no work. Breaking God commandments is evil and keeping them is good.
Ecclesiastes 12: 13 - 14
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
Hope someone learned something, peace to all truth seekers in Jesus name.

2 Corinthians 5: 1 - 10
1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.
6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight

Romans 8: 19 - 22
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

Yea you have to work for whatever reward Christ will give you at his coming, not a day before.
19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
Those that are Christ will get their heavenly tabernacle when Christ comes, notice it did not say when you die. Nobody gets their heavenly tabernacle until Christ comes. Since Paul explained this to the church at Corinth in his first letter they understood where he was coming from in his second letter.
35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?
36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:
37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:
38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.
40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
Everyone is going to get change whether we like it or not. Eternity is a long time make sure you end up in the correct place.
