Accepting God?

Asking for help is a good start, but don't expect it all to come to you on a 'silver platter' so to speak through another person... although it frequently does come that way:
"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." Heb 11:6
Faith is where we always start every day as we look to Jesus and walk toward him. Then remember this verse regularly:
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:" Matt 7:7
and these:
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." Matt 6:33-34

Welcome to TJ, I am sure you will get all kinds of great suggestions while you are here.
- Sounds like you are seeking salvation but not sure how to start.
- From my own experience, God is calling you and you being here is no coincidence
- You first need to make a commitment to God !
- I would suggest you read / re-read Romans 10: 8-13 several times. Have any questions ask out. This is not the only place in the Bible to help you through this, but this is basically a good one.
- The basic is receiving God's unmerited favor by accepting his forgiveness for all your sins and asking Jesus to be your personal savior. Do this , and something similar in the above verse and let's see what happens.

Hi, I'm a little new to God as well. I accepted God into my life last summer and it's gonna be the best decision you'll ever make. It's hard to understand at first how he can love you so much and be so forgiving to you. I still have my days where I don't understand how much he loves me, and how I don't realize it all the time. Being a teen it can definitely be hard, there are so many more temptations like fitting in and doing whats "cool". But as for how to do it, there is no right way honestly. Yes you do need to tell God you sent your only son to the cross to die for MY sins, and that you accept him fully into your heart, and dedicate your life to him. But you can put on some worship music and do it like that, have your youth leader or pastor help. Whatever works for you or what GOD is saying to do. For your problems, I struggle with giving him my problems myself. But you can't do it all alone, having God next to you while working through issues is so much more easier. We carry chains, placed on us from our past, from other people. One day the chains will be to heavy, but the only one who can take them and heal you is God. He loves you so much and wants to help. Let go and let God. I hope things work out for you, your in my prayers!
