What is this 'blood' business? To non-Christians and even new baby Christians who don't know the significance, it sounds rather revolting, like something you'd expect in a horror movie. Who, in their right mind, would want to be bound in cords of human blood? Or sprinkled with another person's blood, let alone covered in or with it?

If we were talking about the literal, physical red fluid that flows in our veins, we Prayer Warriors might probably agree. But that isn't what is being related here; because 1) JESUS isn't still bleeding from His wounds; and 2) according to the Bible, He was in all points made like us (Hebrews 2:14-16), including His blood.

What is being discussed here are the "merits" or "efficacy" of JESUS' blood. Webster's New World dictionary defines these words as meaning:

1) Merits = "the worth or value of; something of superior content; or quality of excellence."

2) Efficacy = "the power to produce the intended results."

The first fully recorded use of the efficacy of blood is found in Exodus 12. After Moses and Aaron announced to Israel and to Egypt's pharaoh the coming death decree that would be executed upon all the firstborn who were not protected by blood, they proceeded to instruct the Israelites with GOD's exact specifications on how their families could be saved.

Each family was to kill a lamb and its blood was to be sprinkled on the doorposts and lintels (over the door) of their homes. When the angel of death came that night and saw the blood, he would "passover" those homes.

From the Passover history there are unforgetable lessons for us as Prayer Warriors. First, this story is about deliverance. Second, the lamb in it represents the "Lamb of GOD" JESUS CHRIST (John 1:29). Third, it isn't enough that JESUS died on the cross...but the merits, or efficacy, of His shed blood must be applied to our lives, and to those whom we are interceding for. Fourth, the lamb whose blood stained the doorposts was to be eaten, likewise we are to 'eat' the Word; it is to be a vital part of our lives.

When Moses wrote about the Passover, the Sanctuary Services and Calvary were still in the future.

When JESUS died on the cross, He exactly fulfilled all the Old Testament types. Which is why the sacrificial system is no longer in force.

As we 'plead, bind, bond, sprinkle, cover, or cleanse' our prayer objective, by faith, with the merits of JESUS' shed blood, we are in effect requesting our Commander-in-Chief to step in and help in the most dramatic way. We cannot see it, but the blood is SCREAMING RED to satan and his cohorts. It is a declaration to them that CHRIST's blood is a boundary they cannot violate.

NOTE: The blood of CHRIST must not, however, be treated like some kind of magic formula that guarantees absolute protection. Your prayer objective may, of their own free accord, allow satanic influences into their lives. In which case, you will have to be consistent in repeating the application, until the individual comes to their right mind and resists themselves.

H.A. Maxwell Whyte in his book relates another use of 'the blood' of equal importance but not often referred to, and I quote:

"... In the natural world, we would have no difficulty understanding how to apply disinfectant to an infection... Likewise we should have no difficulty in doing the same thing spiritually. Where satan is at work, we must apply the only corrective antidote there is--the Blood of Jesus. There is absolutely no alternative, no substitute. Prayer, praise, worship...all have their part...but the Blood of Jesus is the only effective counteragent to corruption." (Power of the Blood; Whitaker House 1973). Emphasis supplied.

Today the destroyer and his cohorts are stalking our world, (terrorist attacks, murders, rapes, stealing, crimes of every kind and in their most horrific form),seeking whom they may devour. And it will be only through Prayer Warriors and GOD's regular forces that a difference will be made. Brothers, Sisters...we have been commissioned by our Commander-in-Chief and empowered by the HOLY SPIRIT to take up the standard (Isaiah 59:19) and move forward to victory!

In Colossians 1:14, Paul ended his prayer for the people by saying that "we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins." And it is because of the merits of CHRIST's blood, that he urged, "Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need" (Hebrews 4:16). Peter, also, began his first letter by directing our attention to "the blood of JESUS CHRIST" (1 Peter 1:2). And John refers to the blood of CHRIST as "(it) cleanses us from all sin" ~John 1:7.

The New Testament repeatedly points to the blood of JESUS. Matthew 27 alone mentions the blood five times (v. 4, 6, 8, 24, 25). Add to that the verses describing the scourging, the crown of thorns, and the Crucifixion (v. 26, 30, & 35), and you have a total of 8 references to JESUS' blood.

You can be sure, fellow Prayer Warriors and all believers, that when you open your Bibles to Matthew 27, and point to those eight mentions of the blood of JESUS, and urge the Father to act in a mighty way for your prayer objective, satan and/or his evil cohorts slink away in anguish... TOTALLY SILENCED!

There is power, power, wonder working power in the Blood of the Lamb' the precious blood of the Lamb!!!!! amen a gazillion times amen!!!

I realize poeple dont like to talk about the blood and many have taken it out of their song books and their sermons . But without the Blood of Jesus we cannot be saved. Hebrews 9:22 says --"And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission".

Ephesians 1:7
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace

1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Revelation 1:5
And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

Revelation 7:14
And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Revelation 12:11
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
