You will see neither wind nor rain, says the LORD, but this valley will be filled with water. You will have plenty for yourselves and your cattle and other animals. But this is only a simple thing for the LORD, for he will make you victorious over the army of Moab! 2 Kings 3:17-18 NLT
The people of Moab owed Israel a large tribute of sheep and wool. When a new king was named in Israel, Moab decided it didn’t need to continue the payment.
Israel’s soldiers marched seven days through the desert. They became weakened by thirst. In their hour of need, God promised plenty of water in the valley outside Edom. The next morning God delivered not just water but also a stunning victory to Judah and Israel.
God can take the worst situations and transform them into events that demonstrate His power, serve His purposes, and rescue His people.
You’ve probably read, “We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28 NIV). The Bible is filled with stories of how God took circumstances, people, and choices, turning them into something that brings praise to the lips of those who witness God’s good plan.
Prayer: Dear God, help me remember You aren’t just the God who made things perfect and watched us destroy them. You are the God that can take any circumstance and make it part of Your good story.
