Darkness surrounded me,
eating at the moonlight
streaming through the blinds.
Voices below us
getting louder.
Forget sleeping tonight.
Tears trickle down my face.
Where is God this night?
I hold mmy sisters close to me.
Comfort them the best I can.
Daddy hurts us all
when he forgets his medicine.
Where is God when we need Him?
Another tear falls.
A hand, soft as a feather,
wraps itself around us.
The arms of God have come
to heal our broken hearts.
He's calling 'I have always been here.
I will always be there, my children.'
Safe in His arms, we sleep.
