SignUp Now!Here is something about the Gregorian Calendar being off by 3 to 4 years.would be interesting to try and verify some of this.
about 10 years ago someone called into coast to coast am and claimed that he had read a roman soldier's logbook which had been found in spain, where the soldier reports that he had seen the graves open. it was open lines, caller didn't give any more detail. since then i have never heard or read anyone else make such a claim, that an independant logbook type entry exists of the first ressurection.
this is the solar eclipse of ad 29 -much better fits the narrative.. but its too early.. that is, unless Jesus only had a 1 year long (plus couple months) ministry. he could have been killed by ad 29 even though the rest of the historical record better fits an ad 30, 31 or 33.
vs 33 -would not have been visible.
good quality roman records put John the baptist arriving ad 29 but its relatively easy to be off by 1 year, a little harder to be off by 3 or 4 years.
it could be the roman records of John at ad 29.. are more like after Jesus showed up and John gets put in prison for upholding the LAW, taking it personal with the roman ruler's wife. (i wonder if he should have been more shrewd about who to use as an example...)
now, i will say, without verifying every single eclipse that is recorded in history to the very day, it may be possible for these eclipses to have been over a slightly different part of the earth. we can measure how much the earths rotation is slowing down and compensate for the difference going back 2000 years, but we don't nessiarly know is if that rate of change is constant. we might be able to move the path of totality of the 29 ad ecclipse over jerusalem for example, i could imagine such an adjustment to be within the range of possibility. but moving the 33 ad eclipse all the way to eastern china or north to jerusalem isn't possible.
Probably this is why Paul had written that some have erred and overthrew their faith because they had believed the resurrection was past already, but even though they became former believers, they are still called to depart from iniquity as other saved believers were in, because that foundation is sure as that seal of adoption is as well.so there are some interesting accounts that the normal "methods" used by the jews to determine if the spiritual health of the city was good, failed in ad 30 until the city was destroyed. among them, the lamps in the temple would never stay lit overnight, the lot fell into the left hand, the ribbon tied around the door of the temple turned white, etc.
i forget where to find this information but basically, for 40 years from ad 30 to ad 70, the lot always fell into the left hand, the ribbon tied around the door handles of the temple on passover remained blood drenched, the doors of the temple would open themselves at night all the time, and the lamps in the temple would go out.. all the time, for 40 years until the city is destroyed.
I have prefered (for symbolic and self consistent reasons) to believe God gave the city 40 years to repent and this prefers an ad 30 or 31 crucifiction and it better matches up with this interesting information.
however an ad 29 crucifiction fits the narrative better in my opinion after learning about this eclipse. for years Christians have tried to prove it was ad 33 based on circumstantial evidence from just the gospels, but they were "looking" for that information to prove that Jesus fulfilled half of the 70th week and he had a 3.5 year long ministry. they used the roman records of john showing up in ad 29 as proof of this. but, the motive to look for this information to prove a half fulfilled* week (from daniel, which is hard enough to understand anyways).. never sat right with me.
*since when does God "half fulfill" anything
in fact there are detailed, and i mean, detailed websites that show that Daniel's 70th week can be counted accurately... but within a margin of error, to either the beginning of John the baptist at ad 29, or Jesus at ad 31-33. but many of these folks are looking for a rapture so they are ok with a half fulfilled week. if you don't consider such a thing then its easier to say, you can fulfill the prophecies in ad 28/29 and that is the end of it.
