We must love our enemy, do good deeds to those who hate us, bless those who curse us, and pray for those who mistreat us. If anyone hits us on one cheek, we must let him hit the other one too; if someone takes our coat, we must let him have our shirt as well. We must give to everyone who asks for something because God is good to the ungrateful and the wicked. We must be merciful, just as our Father is merciful (Luke 6: 27-36). We must remember that mercy triumphs over law (James 2; 13); and it is mercy, and not sacrifice that God wants (Matt. 12:7). We must walk an additional mile if the occupation forces ask us to walk one. We must not judge or condemn others (Luke 6; 37). We must not take revenge on someone who does us wrong. If someone takes us to court to sue us for our shirt, we must let him have our coat as well. We must walk an additional mile if the occupation forces ask us to carry their pack for one mile (Matt 5; 39-41). If anyone borrows something from us we must not ask for it back (Luke 6:27-30).

Those things can seem so easy when in thought but when it comes to the action boy does it get hard... Our flesh screams out "WHAT ABOUT ME??? THIS IS NOT FAIR" We just need to remeber we are told to do these things just like we are told to do many others!

Great reminder Arunangelo!

God Bless you

Putting into practice these diciplines are all the more challenging in America. As American ideology is about "ME". My rights, constitution, Bill of this and that. The common demoniator is not Jesus. We must ascribe to the absolutism of Jesus. Not America, Sweden, Canada, or any other themes of the culture. The proverb" practice, practice, makes perfect, the way of Yahweh. Is so true. It is a dicipline, once mastered, it is second nature. Do you expect abuse for your faith? Do you believe you will know persecution? It is part of the Disciples equation. Blessings and persecution, both are the cost, both are "Blessings".

I like what your saying.

I like what your saying.

There is a lot to said about the scriptures you are quoting, no scripture is of any individual interpertation.

I would say a little here that means much. You should use should instead of must.

Dear Aurenangelo,

Yes, the Sermon on the Mount is the most neglected part of the Bible taught in the churches. It is the hardest for me to live to be honest. What matters is our daily personal commitment to our Lord Jesus. we will stumble, and will fail at times, but His grace is greater than our failure or sin. Yer, we are called to follow the path of Jesus, that it is why it is called "The Way".

Peace,
Dr. Gary
