Who may worship in your sanctuary, LORD? Who may enter your presence on your holy hill? Psalm 15:1
Each year the queen of England invites 30,000 men and women to her four summer afternoon garden parties. Sorry, it’s not possible to request an invitation by writing to Buckingham Palace. Instead, guests are nominated by a network of top leaders over Britain’s’ major institutions.
So, if you have any friends high up the ranks in the British government, military, or church, you may want to run the idea by them. Of course, if the queen of England does invite you, be prepared to buy a new wardrobe and practice dozens of rules of etiquette meticulously.
What does it take to have dinner with God? First, you need to be a citizen of His kingdom. Second, you need to love the Lord with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind. Third, you need to know that Jesus counts you among His friends.
Thankfully, Jesus already is knocking on the door of your heart (Revelation 3:20). Jesus is waiting for you to swing the door open wide, embrace Him, and invite Him in!
Don’t worry about what to wear. Jesus already has clothed you with His robes of righteousness and given you His Holy Spirit. So, what are you waiting for?
Prayer: Lord, transform me. The greatest privilege is breaking bread and sharing a cup with You. I’m ready and willing!
