Arlington Cemetary
By Jennifer Lynn Faust
Written after watching a short documentary about Arlington Cementary in Washington DC
August 17th, 2013 at 12:17 am
I want to walk
Through the white stone fields
In silent reverence
Read the names
Read “unknown”
And remember
Will the stories of the brave
Buried beneath the grass and dirt
Overwhelm me to tears?
I want to walk
Through the white stone fields
In silent reverence
Read the names
Read “unknown”
And remember
May God remind me
Of sacrifices that have been
And are made every day
So that I, so that we
May live in the land
Of the free and the home of the brave
I want to walk
Through the white stone fields
In silent reverence
Read the names
Read “unknown”
And remember
