Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved

Acts 16:30-31

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Acts 4:12

Please note I have not checked the accuracy of these quotes of other religions....however, I know and believe that Jesus is the only way. Praise the Lord!

I am not a Muslim, but it is good to have accurate criticisms for others beliefs. No where in the Quran does it say what you quoted Muhammad as saying. The only one similar to this would be where Muhammad saying that he doesn't know where HE is going when he dies. (

Just so there's no confusion in people's minds.

In peace

Thank you for pointing that out @Hiswillbedone

The picture was copied from an online post of a friend.

My point being not to criticise but to emphasise we have a living Saviour and He is the only way of Salvation.

I will add a note to establish that the quotes have not been checked for accuracy.

However, nothing changes the message of the Gospel

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.
John 14:6

Years ago there was a Christian tract that gave many death bed statements of those who were well known Christians and atheists. Very telling. You don't hear them much today due to the drugs people are usually on before they die. But back then you did. I do remember Voltaire, the French historian and atheist, had a horrible time at the end. I think I may still have one of those tracts. If I can find it, I will give some of the experiences.

Well, praise God, I found the tract I mentioned, but only a few pages as it has been stapled back together. It is called "Dying Words of Sinners and Christians" . And it came from Apache Junction, Arizona. I don't know all the people it cites, but they can be looked up.

Of the Unsaved

1.) Tallerand said, "I am suffering the pangs of the damned".

2.) Altamont said, "Hell is a refuge, if it hide me from thy frown".

3.) Charteres said, "I would gladly give 30,000 pounds to have it proven that there is no hell!"

4.) Mirabeau said, "Give me more laudanum that I may not think of eternity".

5.) Hobbs the atheist said, "I am taking a fearful leap into the dark".

6.) Voltaire said, "I am abandoned by God and man! I shall go to Hell! O Christ, O Jesus Christ!"

7.) Sir Thomas Scott said, "Until this moment I thought there was neither God not a hell; now I know and feel that there are both and I am doomed to perdition by the just judgement of the Almighty!"

8.) Tom Paine said, "I would give worlds, if I had them, if the 'Age of Reason' had never been published. O Lord, help me! Christ, help me! Stay with me! It is hell to be left alone!"

I will get back later with some of the saints death bed experiences. Concerning Voltaire, I must have read of his also in a biography. It was much worse than just the one line given here. As probably most were.

Those were the last words of Voltaire? Do you think he was cursing?

He considered Christianity as a ridiculous superstition....so I would guess probably cursing?

How wonderful it would be if he was infact calling upon the Lord.....who is abundantly able to save.

Only the Lord knew his heart at the time of death.

My point was this. Some people see what's on the other side shortly before they die. Is it possible that this man, Voltaire, saw the other side? And cried out to Jesus? If so.....Guess where he is now? Not in hell.

Of course only God knows the heart. One should look up his full death bed experience and it will be more telling. You can find it on the internet. He vacillated between cursing God and Christ and the Church and those around him, to calling out to God. Some who were there were so horrified at his appearance and actions that they would not go in to see him any more. Others claimed they never wanted to see another infidel die.

My opinion is that he was scared and knew he was getting ready to make the final plunge, and knew he was getting ready to meet the One he waged war against all his life. And there was nothing he could do to stop it, and he hated it. I think his cries about Christ were true in that he knew he was about to meet Him, but I believe he hated Him just as he hated the idea that he had to die.

From that same tract I have it lists some dying words of Christians.

1.) Luther said, "Our God is the God from whom cometh salvation. God is the Lord by whom we escape death."

2.) Knox said, "Live in Christ, live in Christ, and the flesh need not fear death."

3.) John Wesley said, "The best of all God is with us."

4.) Abbott said, "Glory to God! I see Heaven sweetly opened before me! "

And of course one has only to read the history of Christian martyrs to see how they faced death and how God and Christ was there with them giving them the grace and strength needed to endure such deaths.

I would like to present the dying words of Gen. Stonewall Jackson as there is much there to encourage and to warn.

The warning that Jackson gave was that at one point when he believed he was about to die, which was right after he had been shot and some men got a litter to carry him off the field while under fire. They had dropped him during the effort and he felt he was dying right then. He said of that time:

"...he added that he thought when he fell from the litter, that he should die upon the field, and gave himself up into the hands of his Heavenly Father without a fear. He declared that he was in possession of perfect peace, while thus expecting immediate death. 'It has been,' he said, 'a precious experience to me, that I was brought face to face with death, and found all was well. I then learned an important lesson, that one who has been the subject of converting grace, and is the child of God, can, in the midst of the severest sufferings, fix the thoughts upon God and heavenly things, and derive great comfort and peace: but, that one who had never made his peace with God would be unable to control his mind, under such sufferings, so as to understand properly the way of salvation, and repent and believe on Christ. I felt that if I had neglected the salvation of my soul before, it would have been too late then." (Stonewall Jackson, Robert Lewis Dabney, Sprinkle Publications, 1983, p. 708)

Jackson would not recover from his wounds and would die a few days later. The doctors had told his wife who was there with him that he would die today. And he had a hard time speaking at this time. She went to him and this is the record. She asked him:

"Do you know the Doctors say, you must very soon be in heaven? Do you not feel willing to acquiesce in God's allotment, if He wills you to go to-day? He looked her full in the face, and said, with difficulty: I prefer it. Then, as though fearing that the intelligence of his answer might not be fully appreciated, he said again: I prefer it. She said: Well, before this day closes, you will be with the blessed Saviour in His glory. He replied with great distinctness and deliberation: I will be an infinite gainer to be translated." (p. 723)

And a little later his last words were these.

"In his restless sleep, he seemed attempting to speak; and at length said audibly: Let us pass over the river, and rest under the shade of the trees." (p. 723)
