It was long ago, and my then fiance and I were setting a date for the wedding, and she went
to talk to a prospective pastor to hopefully marry us in a church. Well, she came back to me
worried, and told me that the pastor she spoke with was strict, and sometimes asked couples
if they were certain that they were one day going to Heaven. The problem was that in my church
I had been taught that it was to presume much to claim Heaven as my future. That was between
a person and the Lord, and I had not been told that, and I would not lie to the good pastor
about it. When we had our interview though, he asked us instead if we thought our getting married
was in God's will. That was a different question, and I had no trouble answering "yes" to that one
without any lying.
It was many years later before I was told that I was to go to Heaven one day. I had been healed
after considerable numbers of prayers from many close and far from me. Then in the course
of coming back to health I was told that now I was closer to God and one day I was going
to go to Heaven. Wow, that was not what I expected to hear, but I did.
Thank you Jesus, for mercy, and forgiveness in your name!!! We don't deserve it, but we
get it with faith in his name.
