This weekend I received a distraught phone call from my son. His friend was killed in a terrible motorcycle accident, the young man was only 21. I believe this incident has hit close to my son's heart of our mortality and how in an instant our lives can be snatched away.
Not only do I ask for prayer for the grieving family and friends of this young man named Joe, may the Lord bring them comfort , but dare I ask that through this tragedy, may the Lord speak to my son and the other young men who were friends that they will realize the reality and need of Jesus Christ's salvation and will be saved.

You are right Teraside, my son is in alot of pain about this. And I am here and he is thousands of miles away. I wish I could hold him and comfort him and I told him this. I also said that the Lord is right there for him also. I was loving and gentle, and he knows what I mean.

I did not want my prayer request here to sound heartless, but I know God can use all sorts of situations, even tragic ones to get peoples attention. I am heartbroken for my son, and his other friends who had actually witnessed the accident. It is a terrible story. My heart goes out to the family.

God knows what's best calluna, and He always does what He knows. I did not think your initial post was heartless, to the contrary I though it sounded like something my own mother would say, I can relate. I am really praying for this family and your son, the best thing is that God heals all wounds.
