Along the back of my house runs a creek. Blackberries grow like wild there . I look back and think of when I was a child momma would ask my sister and I to go pick blackberries with a promise of making a cobbler. Now I hated her cobbler and I hated the taste of black berries but I would never tell her I did because I never wanted to hurt her feelings I wanted to make her happy and please her. She thought that she was doing something special for us kids with her gone all the time working two jobs to support the family .
My father he was a gambler so a lot of the money she made went to that so this was one of her ways of doing something special. I hated going to pick them my hands got torn up by the briers and I would get cuts and scratches picking the berries . But I wanted to do it for mom regardless.
Much like us in a Christian walk we want to please the Father and obey him. But while I was sitting on my swing I got to thinking about those berries and briers. You know much like faith we get cuts and bruises along the way . It hurts at times but with prayer and the study of the word our spiritual skin thickens! Another words our faith toughens up even more .
I sometimes think we have to go through those brier patches in life to help us grow and strengthen us for the next battle we face. They never get easier the battles get harder at times but our faith grows to where we can get through it. God never said in his word we would have an easy walk , But with faith it does strengthen us to get through .
Isn’t a few cuts and scratches worth what awaits us at the end of the path of righteousness?

If all fails think of what your in store for after we pass away and leave this world the blessings to come and most of all where we all can gather as one and worship the most awesome Father of all!
Remember to always stand on the word and keep applying it daily !
Scripture reference: Isaiah 7:9
If you do not stand firm in your faith,
you will not stand at all

Rom 4:16-17
16 Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham's offspring-not only to those who are of the law but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all. 17 As it is written: "I have made you a father of many nations." He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed-the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were.
(from The Holy Bible: New International Version.
