:omg: Can a man Rob GOD? :omg:

Malachi3:8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. 9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. 10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. (KJV)

*The only time God allows us to prove him.
If we're seeking for a blessing and are not getting answers, maybe it because we're robbing God.

Why pay tithe and offerings?
Because God Gave us the strength to work, the breath of life, and all we have; and anything we make is not ours but Gods.

10% of what God has given us is tithes.
GEN28:22 And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God's house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.(KJV)

This has brought to my mind something which happened
between me and one of my sons
he lost his job, got sacked, through being dishonest
not with money but with time, taking too much time
for lunch instead of the hour he was alloted and was
reported by which he lost his work,
he came to me and said it was unfair, I disagreed with him
I said he was being dishonest, breaking God's law,
he replied with 'but I wasn't robbing God' I went away
and thought it over and returned to him with the
words only the Lord could have given me for not of
myself would I have came up with them,
I said to him, okay, then, so it would be okay for you
to steal money in work, sure that's not taking money
directly from God is it? Well he pondered it, and then
could see what I was getting at, and agreed about the
reason he'd been sacked.
I wasn't pleased he'd lost his work, but glad he could
see he was robbing God of truth.

this is from one of the letters written to us nations:

Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

that is where our blessings lie, they do not lie on the earth. Israel's blessing do. Every thing that reinforces the identity of Israel speaks of the earth, in stock and in store, in seed and in the land,

but none of ours speak of these things, instead, we are instructed to seek that which is above, to have faith without law, &tc.

I'm not saying love offerings of our choice shouldn't be persued, just that, when God tells one people to do a certain thing, and another people to a certain thing, we have to find out which person we are, so we don't mix things up.

Tythes were specifically animals. These people had money and other forms of wealth, and gave other forms of offerings, but only animals were considered a tythe.

The Old Testament Law does not apply to us hallelujah,
And the New Testament does not say to give ten percent,
rather it says:
2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, [so let him give]; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Sail2awe I think your definition of meat is incorrect (not specifically animals as you say) as the word meat as used in reference to tithe in Mal 3:10 comes from a root word 'taraph' (2963) meaning causatively to supply with food or (2964) that is, a fragment, for example leaf, meat, prey, spoil.

Can man rob God??? Yup...

Sure, you can rob God....

Just don't beleive in Jesus and rob Him of eternal love and friendship with your soul!

That Really Chaps The Lord's hide!

I noticed that many people like pointing at Malachi 3 when talking about tithing today. Please allow me to ask you all a question:

Hasn't organized religion been robbing God for many centuries now when it uses people's tithe for things OTHER than the meeting of needs, as is commanded within God's word? I would appreciate it if ANYONE could show me where the tithe was used for ANYTHING but the meeting of personal needs and feast celebrations before the Lord.

Thanks

BTW
