A sermon I listened to was based on false prophets and the faking of the Fruit of the spirit
Galatians 5:22
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
And we are to judge prophets by thier fruits?
Luke 6:44
For each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thornbushes, nor are grapes picked from a bramble bush
My question is what are your own beliefs in this sermon?
wolves in sheep’s clothing a metaphor for faking the fruit?
If this is the “ litmus test” and it can be faked I’m assuming the Holy Spirit will help us to put up red flags when deception is at hand ( many have been led astray that had good intentions by false prophets)
What are your own views on the subject I still like to use
Dueteronomy 13
13 [a]If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a sign or wonder, and if the sign or wonder spoken of takes place, and the prophet says, “Let us follow other gods”(gods you have not known) “and let us worship them,” you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The Lord your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul.
And
Dueteronomy 18:22
22 If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken.
As always there are wise minds on this forum and I would like to hear your own experiences with false teachings and how you combat the wolves in sheep’s clothing
