I was once a catholic. But when i read the Bible i could not be catholic anymore.
There where many things that catholic church says that i could not agree with, because they where against what bible said.
One of the central issues i have differences with catholic church is the teachings the catholic church has on Mary. One of those teaching i consider to be a Balaam teaching. That teaching is this; The catholic church has given Mary the title of Co- Redemtress (sorry bad spelling) this is the female term for the male Redeemer. Now we Christians know who our Redeemer is. This Title is reserved for the Messiah Jesus. He is our Redeemer.
Isaiah 44:
6 " Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: 'I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God.
Galatians 3:
13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed [is] everyone who hangs on a tree"),
Galatians 4:
4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
Titus 2:
13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself [His] own special people, zealous for good works.
Revelation 5:
9 And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
When one says that Mary is a Co-redemtress. One is saying there are two Messiah's two Savors. They are saying that Mary is the equal of Jesus. The bible says that Only Jesus is the Way to God. No one else.
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
This is one reason i could no longer be a catholic. I see this teaching as an abomination to God.
