This weekend in Trinidad, the locals were all geared up for World Cup. For the first time in history, my country was qualified to enter and it was a festive time as we prepared to look at our first match on Saturday.
Everywhere I turned, there were flags; on cars, trucks, buildings, people’s clothing and on their faces. Everyone was preparing in one way or another. Families and friends came together cooking favorite local dishes, tv sales bloomed like never before because people were buying big screens. Posters with our footballers were all over. Wow what a time!! Many didn’t even care if we won or not, just that we made it this far.
I decided to go to my mom’s home on Saturday to watch the game and seeing all the excitement on the roadways thought of Christ. If only we could have such excitement for my Lord. If only my fellow citizens could be so excited for Him. What if an entire nation or the world would come together to celebrate our Saviour, with banners, flags, t-Shirts, musical instruments, posters etc. How glorious this will be! Not just a few but the majority or the entire nation. Could you see it….parades through the streets announcing that Jesus lives and will come back some day.
Well the day will come when all of us who make it will be together, praising and exalting our Saviour. He won’t be on an *** this time, no definitely not, but in all His Splendor and Majesty for all the world to see.
This will truly be the greatest celebration of all!
Phil 2:10-11
THAT AT THE NAME OF JESUS EVERY KNEE SHOULD BOW, OF THINGS IN HEAVEN, AND THINGS IN EARTH, AND THINGS UNDER THE EARTH;
AND EVERY TONGUE SHOULD CONFESS THAT JESUS CHRIST IS LORD, TO THE GLORY OF GOD THE FATHER.
