Hey TalkJesus, I would like to share with you an agreement that is currently in force for my son and daughter's tablet. A similar one is active for my other daughter's cell phone. The cell phone one has stuff about answering our calls etc. They had to read, understand and sign (and initial) this in order to get their device. I am going to have a refresher with them soon. Please feel free to use this if you see it is worth your while. They also are required to have a study bible app on their devices as well.
Tablet Agreement
As I know that tablets can be good things which are often misused, tempting us to act, talk, or think in ways that are not God-honoring, I agree to commit to the following:
1) I will strive to avoid gossip, bad-mouthing, and discouraging or unwholesome talk including participating in videos of such nature.
(Eph 4:29) Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
2) I will guard my eyes and heart against images that dishonor God. I am fully aware that nothing on the internet is truly private. I will not look at things that I wouldn’t want my mother, father, or Sunday school teacher seeing.
(Phil 4:8) Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
3) I will not use my tablet as a device to mask or deal with my feelings or life challenges. Instead, I will seek His guidance thru prayer and worship and the guidance of those around me that love me.
(John 14:26) But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
(Phil 4:6-7) Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
4) I will never take, send or post a photo or video of someone without their permission. This includes siblings, family and friends.
(Luke 6:31) And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.
5) I will abide by the agreed upon tablet schedule attached hereto. If I desire to use the tablet outside this schedule, it will be for educational purposes only with parent approval.
(Eph 5:1-2) Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
6) Whenever possible, I will put my tablet to good use as a tool of encouragement and care for others. I will engage in community activities and not only individual activities so I don’t become isolated in my own home.
(Matthew 5:16) In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that[a] they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
7) I will not send compromising photos of myself to anyone. If someone sends compromising photos to me, I will take my tablet directly to my parents without reply.
(1 Corinthians 6:19-20) Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
8) I will continue to study and learn God’s word so that I have discernment on the internet, recognizing which ideas are biblical and which aren’t. I acknowledge that most of the world’s advice is directly opposed to what the Bible teaches, and I will be vigilant in clinging to the truth of the Bible above all else.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17) All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God[a] may be complete, equipped for every good work.
9) I understand that nothing on my tablet is secret or private. My parents have apps that report my activity, and they will at various times look through all of my content. This is one way that my parents help keep me safe and hold me accountable as a fellow Christian and beloved child. I will not withhold tablet access from my parents. Anything I do on my tablet should be in respect to what my parents would approve of.
(Hebrews 13:17) Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.
(Hebrews 10:23-24) Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,
10) I understand that this agreement before the Lord Jesus Christ is between my parents and me. I know that in any arena of life, temptation can only be overcome with the help of the Holy Spirit. So, I will rely on Christ, and I will remember that with the Holy Spirit’s help, NO temptation is too strong to resist.
(1 Corinthians 10:13, 2 Timothy 1:7) And when I do sin, I will remember that my sin is no match for the wonderful grace of my loving, compassionate God. Jesus desires us to repent and to turn from sin. We can ask our Lord Jesus to show us our wicked ways so that we can be blessed with the gift of repentance.
(1 Corinthians 10:13) No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
(2 Timothy 1:7) for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
(Hebrews 4:15-16) For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
11) I know that my parents are a safe haven for me and that they understand the temptations that come with tablets. I will not be afraid to talk with them about anything, and especially not something that is worrying me, upsetting me, convicting me, or scaring me.
I agree that if any of these rules are willingly abused or misused, the tablet and/or service may be confiscated, or that other such privileges will be taken away or actions will be administered.

- I will accomplish at least two chores per day prior to asking permission to use this tablet. I can do this on my own or those that my parents have assigned me. I agree not to use my tablet during school hours or immediately after I wake up and get ready for the day. This teaches me that the tablet is not a priority in my life. ____
- I will keep good grades (at least B’s or better) to have access to my tablet. If my grades fall to a C+ or lower I agree not to use my tablet until I have a plan in getting my grades back up. This may restrict my tablet usage in order to focus on school work. This shows that my education is a high priority in my life and that I will stive to do my best in it. ___
- I will maintain an open dialogue and good attitude while using my tablet. I will control my actions and attitude in life and not the things that I have control me. I understand this agreement is not punitive, but will teach me life skills that will benefit me in my future. ___
- I will keep my tablet in good condition. This shows that I am responsible and appreciative for having this tablet. ___
- I will not use my tablet anymore than one hour on weekdays and no more than three hours on weekend days. This encourages me to find other activities to do than using electronics. ___
Now this grace is souly up to the discretion of the tester un beknown unto the receiving party.
