I am currently taking a Christian Worldview class and I am having some trouble with it. I was baptized probably 4 years ago now, but I have struggled with my faith and honestly, I am unsure of where my beliefs would fall. Buuuuuut, in this class there is a discussion question that I am having trouble with. Using at least three characteristics of God, explain who God is to the Christian. Why are the characteristics of God so important to the Christian worldview? Because I have been questioning things for awhile, I am unsure of how to answer this question. Help please? Help me understand.

1John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.
4:8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
4:9 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.
4:10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

Luke 10:25 And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
26 He said to him, “What is written in the Law? How do you read it?”
27 And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbour as yourself.”
28 And he said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.”

Galatians 5:14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbour as yourself.”
John 15:12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
James 2:8 If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbour as yourself,” you are doing well.

The two greatest commandments are a summary of the Ten Commandments at a minimum.

It would appear Jesus and Paul would agree.

Matt 22:37; And He said to him, " 'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.'
Matt 22:38; "This is the great and foremost commandment.
Matt 22:39; "The second is like it, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.'
Matt 22:40; "On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets."

Rom 13:9; For this, "YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, YOU SHALL NOT MURDER, YOU SHALL NOT STEAL, YOU SHALL NOT COVET," and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."

There is Only "ONE GREAT AND FOREMOST COMMANDMENT" There is only One AND only ONE GREAT COMMAND!

There is no "SECOND GREAT AND FOREMOST COMMANDMENT! " "There can only be One"!

No such thing as 2:
"And He said to him, " 'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.'
"This Is The Great And Foremost Commandment."
