I couldn't agree more. 99% of Christian music is like depicted here. Bland. Repetitive. Few lines. "Oh God." x 30 in a row. Even less worship and praise of God if any.
All that time and money spend on horrible Broken Record "Christian" music.

Christian music used to have a very special place in my heart. In case you don't know, to most unchurched and biblically illiterate "heathens", the gospel is preached through lyrics first, through the sermon second and through the bible last. The primary purpose of those classic hymns was to educate the congregation. This was also how I met Jesus and got interested to dig in the bible in the first place, no kidding. These days? All vain repetitions. Since 2020, the only one I enjoy that's extraordinarily good that could bring me down to tears is Endless Praise by Charity Gayle, and out of this album, Thank You Jesus for the Blood, Endless Praise and I Speak Jesus are the best. Beyond that, nothing worthy listening.

I basically agree. It is curiously similar and bland.
To me my Christian faith is to be explored, I am not full of praise and exuberant song about it. I prefer serious hymns.

I too look to the Bible and traditional hymns. Not pop music praise.

I have yet to find a band or artist that consistently makes good Christian music.
Jesus Freak - DC Talk was my first favorite. Mercy Me - "I Can Only Imagine" is another good one.
IMO, these artists need a wake up call and need to change their music.

I think there is some truth in the video. It has become a performance.. more about the band than Jesus/God fore sure.
I wonder if it would be equally exuberant if no names or labels or church affiliation was tied to the music. Better yet, no profit for the music.

Still God seems to be a God of emotion. Even the Holy Spirit can cause us to have emotion.

Luke 1:41; When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.
Luke 1:42; And she cried out with a loud voice and said, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!
Luke 1:43; "And how has it happened to me, that the mother of my Lord would come to me?
Luke 1:44; "For behold, when the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby leaped in my womb for joy.

Gal 5:22; But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Matt Redman?

That is subjective.
The Arts, which include Music are subjective in good or bad.
Everyone has the same needs but no one needs Music or the Arts.
MercyMe has only one that I like that fits but they've been around for awhile. Not one person or band is agreed to be good by majority.
Most of it is bland and boring and the fact Christian music hasn't changed for the better is a problem. Hence the link as one example.
