I know Jesus wasn't born on December 25th. Is it wrong to celebrate Christmas?

I really enjoy Christmas, it's alot of fun.

Christmas originated with the birth of Jesus Christ. He's the reason For the season.

Christmas is what a person Makes it to be. Religious / commercialization.

Having a Christmas tree, reading the story of the birth of Jesus , exchanging gifts -- a nice family time.

These past couple of years, I've enjoyed Poienseta plants instead of even a small tree. My oldest son brought one over to my house a couple of years ago -- that's when I decided to change. Nothing Wrong with a tree. Just wasn't in the mood For a tree.

I think Jesus Christ was born at a different time if I'm not mistaken. Plus all these so called Christian holidays have paganism mixed in. Not biblical at all. This is why I don't allow my family to celebrate Christmas. Or any other holiday. I take my relationship with the LORD seriously. True Christian's don't celebrate holidays. Ecpecially not Halloween.

This is true. Everyday is Christmas for Christians. Obviously not the pagan part lol, but the joy, the love, and the giving part.

To me it doesn't matter that Jesus Christs' birth probably wasn't on Dec. 25. What Does matter is that He Was born -- His birth is Very important and I enjoy celebrating His birth. His virgin birth And His bodily resurrection. The fact that He, Jesus Christ was truly God's Son, makes all the difference in the world for our salvation.

God's Word / Bible gives us two narratives of His birth -- Matthew and Luke. In wonderful detail. So -- Do take time that one day a year To celebrate.

We're not told to celebrate birthdays or anniversaries every year, either. But I'll bet we do. Well, those of us who are married and have children certainly do.

What do you find fun?

The tinsel and the Xmas tree lights... mince pies and brandy. The kids get all excited about everything. The whole glow of the season. Its a kinda magic. ... But other than Christmas which is a whole lot of fun.. I find alot of other things fun too.... god made me in his image so that must mean he loves motley crew and guns and roses just as much as I do

I wasn't, I didn't really make that point very well. But he does want us to have fun. I think there's no harm in celebrating Christmas even if it's not the lords birthday. I just wanted to hear other people's opinions.

Isn't there a happy medium? Having a baby is usually a joyful event in a family. So why can't that be the same with the birth of Jesus in the manger. Except that He's a Special baby. The magi -- presented Him with gifts. So 'we' present each other with gifts. Granted there's a great deal of commercialization connect with it, but no one Has to cater to society.

The celebration of the risen Savior is much more of a serious event. Some churches now call it 'Resurrection Day' rather than Easter Sunday.
