I wrote this one about 3 years ago while I was coming to terms with a violent miscarriage that we suffered. I was inspired when listening to the old Celtic hymn "Be Thou My Vision", so it seemed right to give it the simple title of the first phrase.
-------
Come Thou unto me, O King of All Kings
Would that I come to Thee with glad offerings
Alas, for my soul is undone
Soaring or nesting
Be Thou my Wings
Take Thou my tears that are unshed
Provoke them by the wounds that Thou bled
Break Thy Light into my dark night
Sleeping or weeping
Thou art my Helper, my Dread
Speak Thou unto this husk, O Lord of Life
Take Thou from mine heart misfortune's knife
Forgive my cry against Thine Path
Against mine share and part in
The passion of Christ
Forget mine petition, O Ancient of Days
For Thou art just to me, now and always
Surrender I now to Thy Sovereign Might
Blessing or chastening
Hear Thou now my praise
Take me now, O LORD, into Thy breast
For now I see that failure is my best
Though all things around me have fallen
Living or dying
Be Thou my Breath
