Conflicting statements from Christians please straighten out for me..
(1) I was told once that you dont go to church for people, but you go for the Lord.
Vs.
(A)But in the last day I've been told that you also go to have friendship with other believers.

I personally lean toward the 2nd option.. What do tge Christians on here think (please answer biblically)

Answering biblically is kind of difficult because the bible doesnt say much about why we should go to church. I mean it says alot about the church but the church the bible speaks of is a group of fellow christians encouraging each other, teaching each other, helping each other grow in their relationship with God and reach the hurting and lost in the world. The church we normally talk about today is either a building or scheduled service. But biblically the purpose of the church is to encourage and strenthen each other.

There is Hebrews 10:25 which talks about not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together.

there are various aspects of worship -- praising God through singing -- through giving financially -- reading God's Word.

so - a person goes to church for a variety of reasons.

And we Are to be growing in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ -- and that would be done - in part - through Sunday School classes and listening to the sermon. And through a person's Bible reading at home or where ever they are.

And through Sunday School classes there is usually some socializing.
