This is not a prescription for everyone as I know we are all at various stages in our faith and spiritual journey.
However, please share if you have found this experience similar for you in your current stage of spirituality.
So, currently for me when I find myself tempted to sin or do such acts which I know are displeasing to God,
besides doing these things ( praying, reading the Bible, rebuking the enemy, and praising God) which do work,
another thing which I have found has been very helpful is to seek opportunities to love others.
For example, I have be tempted to watch a particular content of entertainment which I know is not wholesome,
I found that in such moments when I find myself just sharing love to others, that temptation (pull) is weaken
and broken.
For example in such moments I might call up a friend who is depressed and share encouragement. I might
write a card to encourage someone who I know is sick. I might find a charitable cause and just be
generous and give money to them. Etc, etc, etc.
I've just found that focusing on loving others in such times of temptations has just been such a
great opportunity of escape for me during those times.

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
