"Only do not rebel against the LORD, nor fear the people of the land, for they [are] our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the LORD [is] with us. Do not fear them." Numbers 14:9 NKJV
Twelve scouts returned from the Promised Land having seen the same things. But ten of them freaked out, causing panic throughout Israel’s camp. Caleb and Joshua insisted that these hurdles were not enough to keep them from conquering the land. Everyone else thought they were dangerous nuts who might lead them into disaster—and if God hadn’t been involved, they might have had a point. But God was involved, and the situation was clearly a test off faith.
The difference was in how each side viewed God. The majority saw giants and towering walls and said, “No way! God led us out here to die.” Caleb and Joshua said, “But the Lord is with us.” The majority said, “Stone these two before they get us all killed,” but in the end, only Caleb and Joshua, who begged the people not to rebel against God, entered the Promised Land. Everyone else died in the wilderness.
What a difference it makes to live like God is who He says He is.
Prayer: Lord, You are the difference maker, the one who helps me overcome my doubts and fears so I can stand for You and Your truth when it counts most.
