I am a single mom to 3 kids. I love them all so much but I feel like a complete failure. 2 of the kids have the same dad and we tried to stay together for several years but I wasn’t working and it ended badly. When they started to go see their dad on the weekend, I met my youngest’ dad. We were never really together and he isn’t in the picture for our daughter. I try so hard to be the best mom that I can be but it’s just so hard. My kids are acting different since they started going to their dads house. I try to spend as much time with them as I can and be there for them but it just don’t seem to be enough. I only work on days that they are with him so I’m with them every chance I get. I also hate that my youngest one don’t have her dad around and I just feel like I’m never going to find someone who wants to be with me and be there for my kids. I’m starting to get depressed about everything and I feel like everything is coming down on me all at once and everything with the future is starting to worry me. Just pray for me please

Hi Jessca,

The best thing you can do for your kids is bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord Ephesians 6:4. Have plenty of fun with them, lots of treats, spend time, days and trips out but above all, keep chatting to them, become mum and best friend. If you can introduce them to Jesus you'll have accomplished a most wonderful miracle. In that respect I tried and so far - flopped! I used to read my little boy Bible stories, took him to Sunday school, got him into church schools and now when I talk to him (he's in his early 30s) he tells me he believes and prays. He used to go to church once a month but got out of the habit with Covid so I'm guessing his reassurance is just him telling me what I want to hear - nevertheless I pray regularly.

So if they want to spend some time with their dad, fine but if dad don't want to know, equally fine. I'm sure you can be mum and dad and have a fabulous, fantastic time doing it.

With regards to 'I’m never going to find someone who wants to be with me and be there for my kids', please don't go hunting; you'll sound desperate and desperate people make bad choices. Try and expand your circle of friends of both sexes with school events, volunteering in church, visiting other churches social events. If you're a bit introvert, try and overcome and push yourself outside of your comfort zone. I'd stay away from dating sites but there are sites for meeting platonic friends such as Christian Friends groups

More than any of that, concentrate upon that other love in your life, giving God tons of praise, love and adoration. If you want to get to know Him deeply, prayer and Bible. I'm sure you have so much to give, and I promise you that the more you do, the more blessings you'll receive.

Dear Lord God, would you please take special care of a lovely sweet sister of mine? She's feeling fragile and struggling at the moment and her situation's in a bit of a rut. Please God, lift her out with a double dose of your wonderful amazing Holy Spirit. Please Lord reveal a little more of yourself to her, give her wisdom to rise above and handle her situation, call and guide her in your ways God; like us all she needs you desperately.

I'd just love to hear her gushing testimony in a few months time, declaring your wonderful transformation because you can do that. You're so amazing, powerful and your love is literally as big as you are dear God!

I never wanted "Children" because of this evil world i live in, as a black man. then when my second son became 2 years of age, I was smoking "Marijuana" in the sitting room, and that little boy look at me, and it seemed with those eyes he said, why are you doing that. Those eyes broke me, in 1975, he never saw me doing anything that is consider in GOD's eyes wrong again. I have six kids, the oldest son died in 2015 at 43 years old, I had 3 boys and 3 girls, 5 left now, ages from about lol, 31 to 46. I laugh because i forget how old they are and what year they were born. Me and their mom do not agree on the same GOD. I have spoken to them about GOD not the church! From the time they where living in their mothers Womb! Laying my head on her stomach and start talking about GOD and who he was. The last two! LOL, 1st i had to learn by reading the BIBLE for myself. And surely not what the preacher taught. "Tithes and OFFERING" and how to be a good church member!

I talked to them about the Character of GOD according to what is Recorded in the BIBLE about HIM. And not my "Imagination" about how i think HE is, or what I want HIM to BE! And not what another man or woman claim HIM to BE! And told my children do not even trust me, but the words i proclaim, test them by "THE WORD of GOD" and not the words of a Corrupted mankind! Behind my back my wife taught the opposite of my believeth. So the younger ones, trying be "Millionaires" By the time they was eight years old, they had more flight time than "superman" and more stamps on their "passports" than i will ever have!
They and their mama is in to MONEY! I remember one time a contractor told somebody, if you only knew how much money I made, you would burn yours!

I can not like that "Dave Ramsey" every time i would come home "Dave Ramsey" this Davy Ramsey this. Davy Ramsey that!.

If you have not read the whole BOOK about GOD how can you tell your children about HIM. If you do not know him yourself! And why would you trust your children in the hands of a stranger! GOD wouldn't. HE gave us to JESUS! and not The Church, "Sola Christus"

PS. will they all end up like "Moses" children, Like Arrons, like Davids children, Like Samuel boys, like Eli's. like Gideons, who knows but one thing for sure, they all belongs to GOD and He has put them into our care and have given us orders in how to raise them. Thank you for opening up and sharing like you have, really appreciate it. I can relate a lot with what you've written, I look back at my life and the situations I jumped into and I look back and think, what the hell were you thinking about when you were ....? (can't even bring myself to confess publicly in the anonymous portal of TJ). Worse still I'm talking post acceptance of Christ!

I try my hardest to make it up to God by encouraging and sharing and I know He's forgiven and forgotten but whist He can and has, I can't.

Mate, can I please urge you to revisit and think through the issues you have with church? I believe that God gave us the church as a gift in the same way as He gave us the Holy Spirit, it's our family. Like family, they can be difficult but you wouldn't cut yourself off from family just because you disagree with them. In any case a church is more than a place where you listen to a preacher, there's worship, prayer and fellowship. The Apostle John didn’t tell any of the churches of Asia to disband, no he told those in error to pull their socks up. Anyway IMO belonging to a church is a two way street, you give as well as receive.

Worth spending some time looking at local church websites and compiling a list of ones to visit over the next few Sundays.

I don't have a problem, Church people do! And they try to make people who are free in Christ. The people who are mature in Christ and have become sons, and The Father and The SON have made their abode in them. Because This is the will of The Father, that many christians will never experience in this life on earth! For some of us have become sons And we are not handicap, neither babes or children in Christ. But free and in full fellowship with the WHOLE Body of Christ those who died and those who are to come. The local church is a mixture of the unregenerated and the regenerated and can never experience the unadulterated "Koinonia" of the Body of Christ. for in which this modern day form of church fellowship is a stranger to "Come from among them and touch not the unclean thing" " what fellowship can the unclean have with the clean" "You have nothing in common". And you go against GOD"S will.

Preachers going with deacons wives, deacons wives going with choir members, trustees going with Sunday School teachers, Homes torn apart by Preachers, Pastors going with boys, Women going with young boys! Yes i understand they don't sin in your church. Well i am not talking your holy church that is sinless, or the cherry sin picking churches! Like my wife told one "Preacher" you better not come over here! My husband will Tear the ROOF off! She told him, no you do not understand i mean HE will Literally tear the ROOF off!

I have told christian men don't you come over my house when i am not home! And have told some don't come over my house anymore and did not tell them why, you have been warn. And when you call for me, you better not start talking about the Weather to my wife! And I explain plainly, I might tell my children to do something 1, 2 or 3 times to do something, But when tell a Man something, I tell them ONE time! And I WILL BE IN ORDER! [My mother told me i am just like my father and my father told me you are just like my daddy} I always let they know, I am not perfect, Be careful, and don't act like a wolf, i can smell you 25 miles away and I don't be smiling! LOL!

You think they got, the message Maybe one or two slip in. heck i don't know. LOL! You know how a wolf is. sneaky. LOL

You will find the children will be sassy , and disrespectful after returning each time from thier dads . This is a common occurence with divorced , and couples who are not married and separated. I am telling you this so you will know to anticipate it.

Another member suggested getting involved with church . I strongly agree . When adults and children are involved with a worship community , the Presence of Jesus is there too. Some of the fruit of His Presence is seen by the calming effect of those who are anxious , or worried , or stressed. This and many other unseen Graces effect the congregation as a whole .

It is 1 of many reasons , being part of a community is important.

I’m sorry to hear what you’re going through, friend. The job of a single mom is one of the most difficult in the universe. I know how stressful and overwhelming it must be for you. Please know that I said a prayer for you, asking the Lord to surround you with His loving presence and provide the strength, comfort, peace and the help you need at this time. Remember that “The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). He will never fail you or forsake you. He will work out everything good for you. I have a three year old daughter and one year old son. My husband does so much and I couldn't imagine how hard it would be as a single mom. Do the best you can and try not to beat yourself up too much... If you can find an outward support group, that would be great. I am in something called mentor mom's and I have like a friend/advocate that we meet and talk about things, make mom goals.

I am a single mom to 3 kids. I love them all so much but I feel like a complete failure. 2 of the kids have the same dad and we tried to stay together for several years but I wasn’t working and it ended badly. When they started to go see their dad on the weekend, I met my youngest’ dad. We were never really together and he isn’t in the picture for our daughter. I try so hard to be the best mom that I can be but it’s just so hard. My kids are acting different since they started going to their dads house. I try to spend as much time with them as I can and be there for them but it just don’t seem to be enough. I only work on days that they are with him so I’m with them every chance I get. I also hate that my youngest one don’t have her dad around and I just feel like I’m never going to find someone who wants to be with me and be there for my kids. I’m starting to get depressed about everything and I feel like everything is coming down on me all at once and everything with the future is starting to worry me. Just pray for me please
