In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. Romans 12:6 NLT
Not all truths are created equal. Scripture accurately records Satan's outright lies (see Genesis 3:6), straightforward historical facts (2:14), insights about how life works (1:30), and divinely-revealed truths (4:7). The Bible places the most value on the latter most.
Among divinely revealed truths, only a small number form the core of orthodoxy. The rest are secondary points of doctrine--worth studying and discussing, of course, but not worth fighting over.

Divinely revealed truths consistently display these five hall marks:
- - Each truth is stated in straightforward language.
- - Each truth can be found in at least three verses, and usually many more.
- - Each truth typically is found or foreshadowed in the Old Testament. Paul didn't invent "the wages of sin is death." This truth appears nearly a dozen times in the ancient Hebrew scriptures.
- - Each truth is found in the Gospels, Peter, Paul, James, John, and Jude indirectly quote Jesus a lot.
- - Each passage shines light on a particular facet of an even more important truth.
