This Friday we are going to discuss friendship. What are real friends and what does God say about it? Here are some versus in the Bible that you should check out and read and prepare for the discussion.
Proverbs 17:17, Proverbs 18:24, John 15:13 tells you what a true friend is.
Proverbs 27:6 tells you how a real friend will act.
Proverbs 13:20 tells about the influence friends have on you.
Luke 8:18, Philippians 2:4, James 3:2 tells how you should act to others (friends).
Luke 16:9, John 15:14 tells who to make friends with.

Try to study those places, really think through them, ask God to tell you what they mean, and be ready to discuss your thoughts, feelings, opinions and questions on friendship on Friday, 4:00 PST, GMT-8

Rules for the Teen Bible Discussion:
1. Be prepared to discuss what you were supposed to read and study for the week and have a Bible with you during the discussion.
2. Be respectful to everyone and their opinions, questions, thoughts and stories.
3. Stay on topic, and have Biblical references to help others understand your point of view.
4. Don’t argue or debate, it’s a discussion to help understand the Word and what God has to say to us.
5. If you have a particular topic you want to discuss, PM one of the leaders, (Princess487 or Forever89).
6. Tell us your opinions and comment on how the discussion is going and how to improve, again, PM one of the leaders.
7. Last of all, this is to get to know God better and come closer to Him.

God bless you all and remember to follow the rules, see you friday :)

Okay... I really realllyy enjoyed reading these verses on Friendship! Cause as I read it I wasn't thinking as much of what kind of friends I should have, rather I was thinking about what kind of friend I should be.

For example, Proverbs 17:17, A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born is for adversity... today i was like oh my gosh, that totally means that when adversity comes... that friend becomes a brother, meaning he is sticking close! Then I think okay... have i become a brother (a "sister" in my case) to anyone this year? Proverbs 27:6 goes kind of along with it... as a friend I must be there not only in the good times but also in the times of hurt, ready to receive the same blows my friend will be receiving.

Proverbs 18:24 ... made me think about college in the fall, and all the people i'm gonna meet this summer... how can I make friends?? BE FRIENDLY!!!

John 15:13, was a reminder that Friendship equals Sacrifice.

Proverbs 13:20.... It's easier to be pulled down than up... i should surround myself with individuals who will encourage me and keep me accountable in my walk with God.

Okay... John 15:14 says, "You are my friends if you do what I command." [Jesus speaking]. Okay, at first... this statement sounds pretty selfish, in human terms. If I told anyone this, I'd probably get slapped in the face. BUT thank God I didn't say it, Jesus did. And he got crucified. But that was his plan anyway. Jesus had the right to say such a huge statement, considering He was ... hmm, let's say.. GOD, Himself, in the Flesh! If you continue onto verse 15, Jesus says I do not call you my servants cause a servant doesn't know his Master's business... but Jesus has filled us in on His Father's business, therefore we are FRIENDS!!!

It's beautiful to treasure friendships with other humans, but the most precious friendship I've come to know is the one with Jesus.
