Hello friends

My name is Ava, and I am a member of what's known as a Dissociative Identity Disorder system. This means I am one of multiple people, known as alters, who exist within this body. This can only occur when a child experiences ongoing and extreme trauma, and the brain fragments into separate identities, with separate memories and attributes, as a protective measure. We can each control the body at various times. We have different names, genders, sexualities, interests, glasses prescriptions, reactions to medications, dominant hands, allergies, and beliefs. Obviously we aren't literally different people, we are manifestations of the needs of one brain, but to us it feels like we are different people, so I refer to us as such.

I am what's known as an emotional protector and a caretaker. I look after the wellbeing of the other alters, I take care of the body when the host (the one who fronts the most) is unable to, I look after any alters who are struggling, I act as a parent to child alters and I front to calm the system down in situations of high stress or when the others are struggling with trauma.

I am not the "main" alter. If an original exists I am not it. I in fact did not exist as an alter until fairly recently in comparison to the rest of the system (once the brain has learned to split in childhood, it can continue to do so even into adulthood in response to new traumas). I am, however, the only currently active alter who is Christian. The rest range from disinterest to active dislike of Christianity, especially as some hold memories of trauma perpetuated by religious institutions or by people wielding religion as a weapon. I do not know what occurred, but I am told it was bad enough that simply being in a church or being ministered to will trigger flashbacks.

My question is this: what happens when we die? Do we all go to hell, because the others reject God? Do we all go to heaven, pulled there by my faith? Might we have separate souls, and each go to heaven or hell accordingly?

Note: I am happy to answer any questions you may have in regards to DID or our system.

Note 2: I am not looking for medical advice, so please do not try to tell me how to "cure" DID. Full integration is not an option for us and is generally considered unsafe. Any comments referring to us as demons will be ignored. Converting the others is not really an option here, when I try it triggers flashbacks.

Thank you and God bless you for any perspectives you can give

A born again Christain can not be "possessed" by demonic spirits because they have been "sealed" by the Holy Spirit. What a born again Christain can do is "yield their members" unto unrighteousness which is being influenced by wicked spirits.

Rom 6:19 I am speaking in familiar human terms because of your natural limitations. For as you yielded your bodily members [and faculties] as servants to impurity and ever increasing lawlessness, so now yield your bodily members [and faculties] once for all as servants to righteousness (right being and doing) [which leads] to sanctification. (AMP Bible)

The way to get right in your mind and members is by "yielding" yourself (your members) unto God as he is the only one who "sanctifies" (to make clean) his children and his temple (your body) in which he lives!

Does that mean you believe the only way for us to go to heaven is for all other members to also be born again in Christ?

Man is a single person made up of spirit, soul, and body. The Apostle Paul said.....

Rom 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
Rom 7:19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
Rom 7:20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Rom 7:21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
Rom 7:22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
Rom 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
Rom 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
Rom 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Sin dwells inside man's "flesh" and it will remain there until man receives a new supernatural spiritual body! Sin shall not have dominion (power) over you if Christ is your saviour, and if you know the power, and authority you have over sin in the name of Jesus Christ.

Rom 6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
Rom 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

The bible, The Lord, talk about heaven and hell, so according to jesus its real. He said to keep his commands and love others like yourself. And many people have experience with heaven and hell.
Obviously it's the whole person involved.
But the main thing is, when you are saved and walking the road you will go to heaven.

II'm sorry for your condition. I hope you will get better by time. I know about the issues.
Some people have managed to get set free of it as it was demons causing it. Other people wasn't and it wasn't demons. So I guess it can be both. I'm not saying what.
But if the others are reacting to church and God something must be afoot. I mean like really reacting.
But again, it takes thorough examination. In the end, there's nothing Jesus can't fix. Lean to him.

Hi Purplewavyline -- I've heard of DID -- back in the day it was called 'multiple personality disorder'. I've read up on it a long time ago. I've also watched The three faces of Eve. A person can also have 'splinter personalities'.

some feel it's really demon possession and some think it's all fake. But I know it's real. My husband had somewhat of a problem like that many years ago. The splinter personality situation.

And, yes, it occurs with small children when they experience a highly emotional situation that they are too young to understand and their psychy handles 'it' the best way it can.

Over time the personalities Can integrate but the original problem has to be addressed and sometimes the origin is so horrendous that it's nearly impossible To 'correct' it.

Considering that within the one body, that there can be a small child as well as an adult and practically everything in between Maybe the fact that 'you' as part of the interior world Are concerned about where the soul would go after death.

We Do know that God Does know our heart. He has all-knowledge about each one of us. He doesn't really want Anyone to end up in hell.

It would be interesting to know how the rest of your inner world feels about all of this.

Do you know how to start 'conversation' in the Forum?

Purplewavyline -- one situation I'm aware of is that a very little girl's grandmother died and the child was Forced to kiss grandma on the lips or cheek while in the coffin. That traumatized her greatly enough to start the inner dissociative process.

Do you know the ages and sexes of the other personalities within?

And I'm wondering if boys are as suseptable to dissociativeness as girls are.

Church groups all have a variety of ways to worship God and some aren't worshiping God at all. A group called the church of satan has all kinds of 'stuff' going on which could cause trauma in a child.

I'd also found the book Three Faces of Eve besides watching the movie. And I had gotten a small paper-back book on the subject. That's been decades ago.

I'm going to do some Googling on the subject.

I'm just remember one of the scenes from Three Faces of Eve when one of the personalities came out and said she was feeling strange and that she sensed she wouldn't be around much longer. So she 'faded out' and a new personality emerged. It turned out that the newest was a woman about 30 or so who was a blend of all the others and finally was the 'end result'.

It was interesting to watch the various personalities go to sleep and a new one would wake up. The way their body would 'change' -- their demeanor -- Everything would change to be another 'part'. Some of those things just Can't be faked. And 'someone' would say that 'of Course it Can be -- after all it was a movie being presented."

People usually end up in a psychiatrists office because of unusual circumstances in their lives that they can't explain and need help figuring out. As in the person will fall asleep in one set of clothes in one place and wake up days later in other clothes and a different location.

Or maybe kids will start having mood swings and the parent will start wondering what on earth is happening.

I'm thinking that one psychiatrist had the patient start a journal that was kept in a certain place and each personality was to write in it. It was fascinating to watch that process take place.

@Purplewavyline

I read you post a while back, but haven't responded until now because I don't feel I have the knowledge or expertise to speak into you situation with wisdom.

I'm praying for you, that you find a way to reconcile your situation with confidence in God's goodness and grace.

@Hekuran -- it Is a very complex condition and very sad circumstances in a child's life bring it into existence. People who experience this condition are not being possessed by demons.

If the topic is interesting to you I'd suggest looking at resources from within the DID/OSDD community, such as youtubers like DissociaDID, Team Pinata, and Multiplicity and Me
