“But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving. For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.
“Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not become partners with them; for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.” (Ephesians 5:3-11 ESV)
This is a subject that is often avoided, because it is not a comfortable subject to have to talk about, and partially because so much of what is called “church” today is literally pacifying the sexually immoral and the addicted, and thus they are avoiding having to confront these situations and to deal with them biblically. But this is not teaching that we should ignore these situations out of some sense of propriety, but it is teaching that these situations should not even be existing within the body of Christ.
Nonetheless, in the gatherings of what are at least called “churches” here in the USA, sexual immorality is very predominant among them who call themselves Christians, even among those calling themselves “Pastors” of such “churches.” With the diluting and the altering of the gospel message, combined with “the church” partnering with the ungodly of the world, combined with the invention of smartphones and other internet devices, the whole world of evil can be at anyone’s fingertips, in their own pockets.
So, this doesn’t have to be about men or women having physical adulterous affairs with other people. But this can be about men or women having romantic and/or sexual affairs with others in their own minds via watching sexually charged videos on TV or on the internet, or via their smartphones and/or their tablets and/or personal computers, and then continuing to replay those images and those thoughts in their own minds in a sexual fantasy world of their own creation, and for their own sinful pleasure.
And those who are addicted to such a sexually charged fantasy world are separate from reality. And if they are married, they are living in adultery against their spouses. And if they profess faith in Jesus Christ, but sexual fantasies are their addiction, and not obedience to God, then God’s word teaches that they are not in a marriage relationship with Christ, either, and therefore they have no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. For the wrath of God comes upon those who live in deliberate disobedience to God.
But this covers a broader scope of immorality than just that, for in our speaking we are not to use filthy and vulgar language, nor sexually perverted innuendos, nor crude joking. For we should be those who speak as though we are servants of the Lord, and in manner that is pure of heart and mind, and not as people who still live in sin and for whom sin is their practice. So we are not to be partners with those who are lewd and immoral and who are living in sexual idolatry and in adultery, by God’s definition.
We are not to partake of the same kinds of immoral thinking and speaking and behaviors as what they are engaged in habitually and deliberately. For, by faith in Jesus Christ, we are to be crucified with Christ in death to sin, and raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin, but now as slaves to God and to his righteousness. We are to no longer walk (in conduct, in practice) in darkness (sin). But we are now to walk as children of light (in all that is morally pure and right and true).
And now we are to be those who are making it our aim to discern, by the grace of god, what is pleasing to the Lord. For, yes, we are to be those who are doing what is pleasing to God. And we are to take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness (sin, wickedness, immorality), but instead we are to expose them, such as what I am doing now by sharing with you what the Scriptures teach on this subject. For God is not okay with any of us dabbling even one little bit in anything that is sexually immoral and sinful.
So be those who, by God-persuaded faith in Jesus, belong to Christ, who have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires, and for whom salvation from sin and eternal life with God are promised. And do not be those who are still living in sexual immorality, sensuality, idolatry, adultery, and the like, who will not inherit the kingdom of God (see Galatians 5:16-24).

Woe to me should I not preach Jesus.
I’m compelled to preach the full gospel.
I make myself a slave to ev’ryone
To win their hearts to Christ.
All this I do for my Lord Jesus,
And for the sake of His Name;
Do it for the sake of His gospel,
So that I, its blessings gain.
Scripture notates the sins of others;
Written down for us as examples
To keep us from setting our hearts
On evil as did those of old.
Do not worship other gods of man;
Do not give your hearts to them;
Not partake in immorality.
Do not test your Lord and King.
So, be careful if you think you are
Standing firm in your faith in Jesus.
God has given his word to warn us,
So through faith we will not fall.
No temptation has o’ertaken you
Except what is commonplace.
God is faithful to not let you be
Tempted past what you can bear.
He gives the way of escape.
