Hello dear Acebopata,

i say reduce watching television (tell a vision) and tv program's (programming) all together, and be very selective even to the utmost about what you let your eyes see and your ears hear.

We ought to be holy and we are not of this world, tv is all about unholiness and ungodliness and it brings the passivity and the world right into you.

Let us not be unequally yoked:

Therefore i recommend all christians to sell their tv's.

after a while you won't miss it Hallelujah!

Glory be to GOD!

God Bless you,
dutch

Well now! I think it's like this...We need to pray that the violence goes away with the saving blood of Jesus. We can't treat the symptoms and not the cause right? I don't think it matters what the media reports, it's up to us as Jesus's followers to ask for discernment and protection from it and if the Holy Spirit says to you "don't watch that", well, don't watch it then.
Praise God

starting my familys year with no Cable or dish ...its anntena vision from here on out .lots of Gospel channels and some good family programing ..DANIEL BOONE >RIFLEMAN and the such ..good values and God is placed first in a lot of the programing..the news reports only bad it seems to justify thier existence .....right or wrong....when i see a child being ask by a reporter how he felt after his school mates were gunned down and he saw it ..WHAT ARE WE THINKING..??? it is time to take Phill.4:8 to heart....Whatsoever things are of good report ,if there be any virtue, honor or praise ..Think on these things .!.. Garbage in, Garbage out. Guard youre hearts for the coming day........Rev

Very interesting question, I voted Yes, we need to eliminate all violence in the media. But The reality is it's impossible to eliminate violence, if a person wants to kill they will, gun or no gun. The weapons just makes it easier. Even though I voted yes, it's only wishful thinking. Aren't Christians military personnel ? What are they trained to do ?

Only way to reduce violence.. Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

There is a lot of violence in the bible, and I dont think anyone should stop reading scripture. I voted it should be toned down. As Rev Perkins says, garbage in, garbage out, and violence is part of nature, part of the fallen world we live in, hiding our heads in a hole like a ostridge wont keep it from happening, and we need to be aware thats its all around us to be aware of it, BUT to limit our focus on it to minimal. That being said, we are in a spiritual battle, and we must be of good courage, and SOME violent shows where good and evil are clearly defined and the good guys win out, teachs the viewers to BE of GOOD courage, which is important. Do we all have our full suit of armor on and the sword of the spirit to go into battle for the Lord? This is a spiritual battle, but being encouraged by fictional battles of clearly defined good vs evil and good winning out helps us I think be courageous enough to be a warrior spiritually. Many christians think being a doormat is what the Lord wants of us, and avoiding all battles would have an adverse affect on our ability to do spiritual battles.
