DO YOU KNOW GOD?
It seems like a weird question but it makes alot of sense. In the parable of the trees and its fruit in Matthew 7:21-23 says " “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!" The amazing thing about this was that the servant says but i cast out demons in your name and the King (Christ) reply was " I never knew you."
In Acts 19:14-15 says "And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?" I mean in the name of Jesus everything will have to bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord. Because their is power in the name of Jesus that the enemy have to flee when it hears it. But do we have the right to proclaim a power or name of someone of who you don't know.
To get to know God you have to have a heart that pants after Him as a deer pants after the water. You need to know Him for yourself going to church is find but that is a second hand way of knowing who God is. Read his word, prayer, fast, and ask Him to show himself strong in your life. The only way we can know him is to seek Him. Do you know him enough to hear when He speaks to you, He says in John 10:27 "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." Which voice are you listening or answering to His it Jesus or it is Satan?
I want to know Him. It is amazing to come to the realization that I don't know God but I know of him. I want to know why i can proclam that "God is good all the time and all the time God is good" or also be able to say as the psalmist "This is the day that the Lird has made let us rejoice and be glad in it." since God is our Fatehr (Abba) and in knowing who your father is you have a relationship. Be able to speak and converse with one another learning about his pet peeves. We already know god pet peeves if we pick up his Holy Word and read it. Get to know what will make Him tell you "Well done thou faithful servant" or even "Depart from me you workers of iniquity."Learn what grieves him because we never want to disappoint our earthly parents, but God is so more important because He is the only one that can save your life from hell and living in destruction.
Am learning daily about Him and the revelation I receive from Him was simple "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33)." Don't get me wrong am not just seeking Him for things because as Juanita Byum said "we have money but are spiritually poor, we need a divine release and we need to be prosperous in our spirit." Seek God and not the things from Him because He is the Alpha and Omega, He is Lord (owner). And it is written in Matthew 6:28-32 "And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek
for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
God knows what we need and want and He would not withheld anything good from those who loves Him. Since He knows what we need and want shouldn't we know what God wants and needs. I mean God doesn't lack anything but He wants us to love Him and pant after Him. we were created to worship and bring Him glory and give Him all the praise. In Ecclesiastes 12:13 "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man."
So consider this do God really know you? Better yet to you really know who God is?
