The more you get involved with people, the less they are "complete strangers".
We "love them" at different levels. We have free meals we give out from time to time to the homeless.
Before Covid, we visited people in hospitals, nursing homes, and prisons.
The 10 commandments are basically about loving people.
Don't kill them, steal from them, lie about them, or cheat with their spouses.
Rom 13:8; Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for the one who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the Law.
Rom 13:9; For this, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Rom 13:10; Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the Law.
We have some homeless shelters also, but the state is making it difficult for that as well. They have to inspected, and manned for licensed people, etc...
Matt 25:34; “Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
Matt 25:35; For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in;
Matt 25:36; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’
Matt 25:37; Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink?
Matt 25:38; And when did we see You as a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You?
Matt 25:39; And when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’
Matt 25:40; And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of Mine, you did it for Me.’
James 2:15; If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food,
James 2:16; and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?
James 1:27; Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
