Do you use of the "Ignore" feature in the Forums?

Only in recent weeks have I used the "Ignore" setting on the forums and am curious if any others use it, and for those who do, by what criteria do you go by in selecting those the 'Ignore'? For me, it has been for extreme arrogance, or blasphemy against the Almighty by those claiming to be regenerate.

I have only ignored two, one for a outlandish arrogance placing his individual translation of the Greek NT, against all the scholars of our English translations from the 1611 KJV to our day. The other is for blasphemy against the righteousness and holiness of the Almighty by presuming to bring God before the judgment of sinful human beings!

Having been here for almost 10 years I have only used it once and that this year.

I've been on various Christian forums for maybe 6 or 7 years, but only recently used the Ignore feature. I encountered some postings that disgusted me so, that I had to watch my blood pressure and ignore them! I find it interesting that you in 10 years, you only used it in the past year, more recently as well. I see you are 72, and I am 82... maybe we are becoming more cranky as we age.

There comes a time to walk away after proclaiming truth to a person who refuses to see what is before them.

Dear @Dylan569
Although there are times when I would prefer to use the "ignore" option, as a Moderator, I firmly believe that it is not appropriate for me to do so.

Regarding my rationale for its use, I like to believe that no one is beyond redemption, even if a ban is necessary. However, I acknowledge that some individuals may be incorrigible in their inability to engage in civil discourse, thereby necessitating the use of the "ignore" feature.

Nick, you seem to be equating the personal use of the 'Ignore' function an individual can use for himself, with the power to 'ban' which removes a post from being viewed by others. I would definitely agree that the 'ban' by a moderator would be a different matter.

For me in a way it has to be. :(
As a Moderator I have to able to view even those I might as a regular member have issues with. Therefore, the option to "ignore" is not feasible for me as a Moderator, which is all I was trying to convey. :)

I now see, and understand your meaning. :)

i post a lot on reddit as well and i've only ever had to block two people. both of which were influenced by a demon, to call me a witch.

what's interesting about those two instances was both of them were in regard to a prophetic claim that i made years ago (meaning they didn't accidentally find my comment recently)

the claim is: that yes, i absolutely know for certain that this universe will not die the "heat death" as is currently claimed by modern physics. i know this because an angel woke me up at 4 am in the morning 12 years ago, something like 4 months after i had declared on the wrongplanet dot net forum, that "entropy wins, and the universe will die the heat death"

turns out, from God's point of view. entropy, decay, death, etc. are all one and the same thing. essentially, from God's point of view, i was saying satan wins.

for whatever reason, lots of christians actually believe that this whole earth and universe, will be burned up, and they will shout angrily from the pulpit this declaration. it won't. everything gets restored. (yes, it passes away, but not like a dumpster fire). no information is lost.

the only other hate mail i've ever gotten was from a witch. i had explained to her former boyfriend in a public comment, that wiccans etc, will seek sexual relationships with christian men for various purposes and they become a spiritual liability to the christian man. she uh, found his comments on reddit askign for help dealing with various problems, then found my comment and called me some choice verbs.. she also insisted she is not a spiritual liability to him and they are separate people spiritually.. i forget what i replied back with. ..

anyhow, no one on this forum has sent me any hatemail yet.
