This devotional (click on link below) I read moved me so much I had to add a link to where it is located. It seems appropriate to many who seek my Lord and Savior Jesus. The questions, one sees repeating its self for many who post here seeking him. How do I know he is who he says he is? I need some sign as a confirmation.

Those who read this and do not know the Lord as their Savior, please realize you are not the first, nor will you be the last (I pray) to ask for confirmation.If you've read the devotional. Ask yourself one question. Jesus gave his life for you, isn't that enough confirmation?

With love.

I really like this. I shared it on facebook, Christ4Ever. I know churches that are very hungry for signs and wonders and not too hungry to serve God in the community. Jesus said when you give a thirsty person a cup of water you have done it unto Him, and so on and so forth. All those acts of love and service are what touches peoples hearts and brings them to Christ, and being saved is the biggest miracle; will ALWAYS be the bigger miracle than signs and wonders. Signs and wonders He does do, but He left the 99 to save the one, not left the 99 to do a great work or wonder for 999 people to say ooh and ahh to.

Luke 17:20; Now having been questioned by the Pharisees as to when the kingdom of God was coming, He answered them and said, "The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed;

John 4:48; So Jesus said to him, "Unless you people see signs and wonders, you simply will not believe."

Matt 12:39; But He answered and said to them, "An evil and adulterous generation craves for a sign; and yet no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet;

Let's put this another way. What about a church which does not crave signs and wonders, it never prays for the sick and never sees the sick healed. There is no sign of the miraculous in its midst. Is that a real church? Is the Holy Spirit still present?

How about we don't put it another way? :smiley: At least not on this thread?

Move this under the devotional heading and the discussion can be made, if someone desires to respond. This is more for those who are "Seeking Jesus" needing or desiring signs and wonders before believing.
No offense intended brother.

Romans 14:1

Not meaning you're weak brother! In fact I see myself the weaker one, if one were to be chosen.

I don't think there is anything wrong with signs and wonders.. even Jesus said...

Mark 16:17; "These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues;
Mark 16:18; they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

But I guess the question is.. why are you seeking signs and wonders? Is it for signs sake? Is it to test or prove God?
I think if we seek God and His kingdom and righteous.. the signs come as a by product. Not the other away around.
Even if you never see a sign or wonder, would you still believe in God?

Finally, have you ever seen a changed heart? How about your own heart? Maybe healing of the heart is the greatest miracle of all.

Proof comes after believing the propositional truth in the Word. God said he would reveal himself to those who follow him, and he really does. You make a good point that those who will not believe would not believe even if they saw a man raised from the dead. The Sword searches the hearts of humans. You make a good point about testing God.
