Justin - - My 2 cents is that above all its important to have a relationship with Christ, and let that exclusive (just you and him) lead you to your decision(s). I think drawing a flat conclusion assumes a 'cookie cutter' christian lifestyle, which is simply false as we are all prone to different temptations and breaches which the devil may attack.
I too like video games so let me try and draw a crude example. - I play all the "Resident Evil" games because I think they are fun and in my mind so fictitious that in my heart of hearts I don't believe they make me more proan to violence. I do however find the "Grand theft auto" games troubliing because of their realtivity to weakness / temptations I personally have - thus I stay clear of them. Same can be said of movies, as Christ has changed me my selection has likewise changed.
Straying from the point a bit - but bottom line whether it was a deck of cards 30 years ago or video games today we are bombarded with avenues the devil can strike, and the only real truth is to know where you are with Jesus and let that lead you.
Be blessed brother.
